Datsun Redi-GO: A Detailed Overview
The Datsun Redi-GO is a car designed for everyday use. It comes in a total of four variants and offers both manual and automatic transmission options. You can choose from six different color options, including the white color shown here, which comes in a single-tone finish.
Engine and Performance
The Datsun Redi-GO is available with a petrol engine. You can select either an 800cc or a 1000cc petrol engine. Both engines offer good performance for city driving.
- 800cc Petrol Engine: This engine produces 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque.
- 1000cc Petrol Engine: This more powerful engine delivers 67 PS of power and 91 Nm of torque. It offers a mileage of approximately 31 kilometers per liter.
Exterior Design Highlights
The Datsun Redi-GO has an attractive and sporty design. It features DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and fog lamps at the front. Chrome elements add to its appealing look.
- Front View: The front features a large, black grille with a chrome surround, giving it an attractive look. It has normal halogen headlamps with integrated turn indicators. Below, LED DRLs are placed next to the fog lamps. The car also offers good ground clearance. A single wiper setup is present at the front, along with a front-placed roof antenna.
- Side View: The car rides on 14-inch steel wheels. The front wheels have disc brakes, and the rear wheels have drum brakes. A Datsun badge is located on the side, along with fender-mounted turn indicators. The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) are body-colored and can be manually adjusted and folded. The B-pillar has a black finish.
- Rear View: The rear profile is also attractive, with distinct tail lights. The Datsun logo is on the boot. The boot can be opened using a key release below the logo or a lever inside the car. Three parking sensors are located on the rear bumper, along with reflectors. A reverse parking camera is integrated into the Datsun logo, and a high-mounted stop lamp is also present.
Dimensions and Practicality
The Datsun Redi-GO is a compact car with practical dimensions.
- Dimensions: It measures 3435 mm in length, 1574 mm in width, and 1546 mm in height.
- Ground Clearance: It offers an impressive 187 mm of ground clearance, which is excellent for this car’s segment.
- Boot Space: The car provides 222 liters of boot space. When the rear seats are folded down, the boot space expands to 514 liters. A full-size steel spare wheel is provided. The car does not come with a parcel tray.
Interior Comfort and Features
The interior of the Datsun Redi-GO is designed for comfort and convenience.
- Door and Seating: The front doors include space for magazines but no dedicated bottle holder. A speaker is integrated into the door. The front windows are manually adjustable. The front seats offer recline adjustment but no height adjustment. Levers for fuel tank and boot release are provided.
- Dashboard: The dashboard features a blue graphic design. The instrument cluster includes a speedometer that goes up to 180 kmph, a small screen with a fuel gauge, a trip meter, and engine warning lights. Wiper controls are on the left stalk, and headlight controls are on the right stalk.
- Steering and Airbags: The steering wheel has a good grip and features the Datsun logo in the center. The car comes with two airbags, one for the driver and one for the front passenger.
- Central Console: The central console has a black finish. It includes a hazard light button and AC vents. A touchscreen infotainment system is available, supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and AUX connectivity. Manual AC controls allow you to adjust fan speed and temperature.
- Charging and Storage: Below the AC controls, there is a USB port and a 12V charging socket for charging mobile devices. Door lock/unlock buttons and front power window controls are also located here. The car has a 5-speed manual transmission (automatic is also available). A handbrake is provided. The passenger side of the dashboard offers some storage space, and there is a glove box.
- Rear Cabin: The rear doors include a bottle holder but no power window controls. The rear seating arrangement is comfortable, and there is good headroom. Rear AC vents are not available. Grab handles are provided for passengers. The front passenger sun visor includes a vanity mirror, but the driver’s side does not. A reading lamp is available in the front.
