The Tata Tigor XZ is a popular compact sedan known for its attractive design, robust safety, and comfortable features. This variant sits as the second-base option in the Tigor lineup, which offers a total of four variants. It is available with both manual and automatic transmission choices, with the automatic option specifically offered in the XMA and XZA variants.
Engine and Performance
The Tata Tigor XZ is powered by a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine. This engine delivers 86 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. It offers an impressive mileage of approximately 19 kmpl, making it an efficient choice for daily commutes and longer journeys.
Safety First: A 4-Star Rated Sedan
The Tata Tigor stands out as the safest sedan in its segment, boasting a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. It comes equipped with a range of safety features including ABS with EBD, dual airbags, corner stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking sensors, and a speed alert system. Tata provides a warranty of 2 years or 75,000 kilometers for the Tigor.
Exterior Design and Features
The Tigor XZ presents an attractive front profile with a large Tata logo positioned on a black piano finish front grille. Above the grille, a black element adds a touch of sophistication. It features normal halogen headlamps for illumination, with turn indicators placed on the side. The front bumper boasts a stylish and sporty design. While there is a provision for fog lamps, they are not included in this variant.
The car offers a ground clearance of 170 mm, which is excellent for a sedan. The bonnet includes aerodynamic cuts, enhancing its modern appearance. The Tigor XZ is available in five different color options. It comes with two normal keys featuring Tata branding; central locking is not provided in this variant.
From the side, the Tigor XZ showcases 14-inch steel wheels. The front wheels are equipped with disc brakes, while the rear wheels feature drum brakes. The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) have a black finish and are manually adjustable and foldable. Turn indicators are placed on the front fenders.
The rear profile of the Tigor XZ is equally appealing, with chrome treatment that enhances its overall look. A large Tata logo is prominently displayed, with a chrome line below it. The “Tigor” branding is also clearly visible. The tail lights feature a white color that contributes to its modern aesthetic. Two ultrasonic parking sensors are provided at the rear, along with reflectors and a reverse light. An integrated, body-colored spoiler and a high-mount stop lamp are also part of the rear design. A normal antenna is placed on the roof.
Spacious Boot and Fuel Tank
The Tata Tigor XZ offers a generous boot space of 419 liters, providing ample room for luggage. The boot can be opened conveniently using the key or a lever inside the car. A toolkit and a steel spare tire are located beneath the boot floor. The fuel tank capacity is 35 liters.
Comfortable Interior and Dashboard
The interior of the Tigor XZ is designed for comfort and functionality. The door pads feature power window controls for all four windows, door openers in a black finish, bottle holders, and speaker placements. The seats are upholstered in fabric with a unique tire-like design. The front seats come with fixed headrests, and the driver’s seat does not have height adjustment. The steering wheel offers a tilt adjustment option.
The dashboard presents an attractive layout. The instrument cluster is fully digital, displaying essential information such as a multi-information display (MID) screen, trip meter, and various other details. The AC vents feature a chrome and black piano finish. The central console houses a 3.5-inch music system that supports Bluetooth, AUX, and USB connectivity. Manual AC controls are provided for comfortable cabin temperature management. Other features include a 12V charging socket, a USB port, and two cup holders. The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, and a handbrake is also present.
For rear passengers, there are fixed headrests, power window controls on the doors, bottle holders, and speakers. The rear cabin offers good legroom and headroom, along with grab handles and a central reading light. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) has a day/night function. There are no vanity mirrors on either the driver’s or co-driver’s side. A microphone is integrated for communication.
Price and Competition
The price of the Tata Tigor, including the XZ variant, has seen an increase of approximately ₹10,000 from May 2021. The on-road price for the Tigor XZ variant in Lucknow ranges from approximately ₹6,19,100 to ₹7,05,900.
