Starting Price The base model of the Tata Punch starts from an ex-showroom price of ₹6.10 lakh. The top model can go up to approximately ₹10 lakh. The Adventure CNG variant costs ₹8.94 lakh (ex-showroom) and is about ₹9.94 lakh on-road in Lucknow.

Variant Overview The Tata Punch offers four main variants: Pure (base), Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative (top model). The Adventure variant is the second base model. It comes with a flip remote central locking key, which includes lock, unlock, and follow-me-home buttons. It also features an audio system and two airbags.

Exterior Design and Features

Front Profile The front of the Tata Punch looks muscular. It features a Tata logo in a glossy black finish on the front grill. The lower grill has a matte black finish with a Tri-arrow design pattern. Parking lights are located at the top, along with indicators. The headlamps are halogen-based. Fog lamps are not included in this variant but can be added as accessories. The car offers a ground clearance of 187 mm.

Side Profile A CNG sticker is visible on the side. All four doors open at a 90-degree angle for easy entry and exit, making it convenient for passengers. The ORVMs (Outside Rearview Mirrors) are manually adjustable and include indicators. The A-pillar is body-colored, while the B-pillar is matte black. This variant comes with normal 15-inch steel wheels with black wheel covers. The tire profile is 185/70 R15. The car includes remote central locking and power window controls for all four doors. It also has an audio system. The warranty is 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers, extendable for an extra charge.

Rear Profile The rear profile features the Tata logo, ‘Punch’ badging, and ‘iCNG’ badging. The taillights are normal halogen-based with a Tri-arrow design pattern and integrated indicators. There is no rear wiper or defogger in this variant. A high-mount stop lamp is present. ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘CNG’ stickers are also placed here. Below, there are reflectors, a Tri-arrow design pattern, and two reverse parking sensors. A reverse light is located in the center of the bumper. A camera is not included but is available in the Adventure Rhythm pack.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Dashboard and Infotainment The interior features a dual-tone dashboard. The Adventure variant has a small audio system with controls. It includes a manual AC and a digital instrument cluster. Two airbags are provided. For a 7-inch touchscreen and a reverse parking camera, one can opt for the Adventure Rhythm pack by paying an additional amount.

Seating and Space All seats are fabric-covered across all variants. In the Adventure variant, only seat recline adjustment is available; height adjustment is not. The rear seats offer good legroom and thigh support. Fixed headrests are provided for rear passengers. There are no rear AC vents. A small space for coins and other items is present. The doors have power window controls, a door opener, speaker, and bottle holder. The glove box provides ample space and can hold a tablet and documents. A small textured design is present on the dashboard. The rearview mirror is manually adjustable. A yellow roof light is provided, along with a microphone. The co-driver side has a vanity mirror, while the driver side has a ticket holder.

Engine Specifications and Performance

The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. This engine produces 86 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. When running on petrol, the car offers a mileage of 18-19 kmpl.

CNG Performance The CNG variant offers slightly lower power figures, around 72 PS of power and 95 Nm of torque. In CNG mode, the car can achieve a mileage of around 26 kmpl. A unique feature of Tata’s iCNG technology is the ability to directly start the car on CNG mode. This Intelligent CNG system also includes safety features like auto-cut in case of leaks or fire.

Safety and Build Quality

The Tata Punch boasts a 5-star safety rating, indicating its strong build quality. Standard safety features include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seat belt warning, an engine immobilizer, and crash sensors.

Boot Space and Storage

The petrol variants offer a boot space of 366 liters. However, in the CNG variant, the boot space is reduced due to the twin CNG cylinders (30 kg each). With the CNG tanks, the available boot space is 210 liters. A parcel tray is provided, along with hooks that can hold up to 1 kg of weight on each side. A light is also present in the boot.
