The Maruti Grand Vitara is a popular SUV, and we’re exploring its second-top model, the ZTA+ Hybrid. This article covers its key features, pricing, impressive mileage, and what makes it a strong contender in its segment.

Pricing and On-Road Value

For those considering the Maruti Grand Vitara, the base model starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹11,42,000. The ZTA+ Hybrid variant, which offers advanced technology, is priced at ₹18,60,000 ex-showroom. The on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹21,43,000. A significant benefit for this hybrid model is a government subsidy, saving you around ₹1,86,000 on RTO charges.

Smart Key and Entry

The Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid comes with smart keys, featuring lock and unlock buttons and the Suzuki logo. You get two smart keys, making entry and starting convenient. Request sensors are also present on the doors.

Dynamic Exterior Design

Front Profile: The front of the Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid showcases a large Suzuki logo set within a sizable grille. Chrome inserts surround the grille, adding a premium touch. It features dual-functional daytime running lights (DRLs) and a full setup of projector automatic LED headlamps. The lower grille is black, complemented by a grey skid plate.

Ground Clearance: This SUV offers a good ground clearance of 210 mm, which is quite impressive for its segment.

Side Profile: From the side, the car looks robust. It includes dual wipers and washers, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof. It rides on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a 5-nut design. Both front and rear wheels are equipped with disc brakes, a standard safety feature. The tires have a profile of 215/60 R17. Glossy black cladding along the sides adds to its rugged appeal. The electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) include integrated turn indicators. The A-pillar is body-colored, and the B-pillar has a sleek matte black finish.

Rear Profile: The rear features striking connected LED taillights, a central Suzuki logo, and ‘Grand Vitara’ badging. Other rear elements include a rear wiper, defogger, high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark-fin antenna. A ‘Hybrid’ badge is also visible. The reverse parking camera is positioned below the Suzuki logo. Horizontal reverse lights and reflectors are integrated into the dual-tone rear bumper, which also houses four reverse parking sensors and a wide grey skid plate. The exhaust pipe is visible underneath, and the spare wheel, made of steel, is stored in the boot.

Powerful Engine and Impressive Mileage

The Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-liter, 1490 cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. This hybrid powertrain delivers 91 BHP of power and a torque of 121-122 Nm. A key highlight of the hybrid engine is its outstanding fuel efficiency, offering an excellent mileage of up to 27 kmpl. The engine compartment includes insulation under the bonnet for reduced noise. While a non-hybrid 1.5L four-cylinder petrol option is also available, the hybrid stands out for its superior mileage.

Spacious and Feature-Rich Interior

Dashboard and Controls: Inside, the car boasts an all-black dashboard with soft-touch materials and stitching for a premium feel. A golden treatment accentuates various interior parts. It features ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and an automatic climate control system, which is a standard feature.

Driver’s Area: The driver’s door trim includes soft-touch leather with golden accents and chrome door handles. Controls for all four power windows and ORVM adjustment/folding are conveniently located. The driver’s seat offers height adjustment and recline. An engine start/stop button is placed on the dashboard. The car also features a Head-Up Display (HUD) with controls for brightness and adjustment. The steering wheel, with the Suzuki logo, is equipped with cruise control, audio controls, and Bluetooth telephony controls. It offers both tilt and telescopic adjustment for driver comfort. Automatic headlamps and wiper controls are also included.

Digital Cluster and Infotainment: The ZTA+ Hybrid features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster displaying vital information like power and eco modes, audio details, outside temperature, time, fuel gauge, and engine temperature. The center console houses a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a glossy black finish. This system provides hybrid battery information, a clock, various settings, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and USB connectivity. It includes a reverse parking camera, but not a 360-degree camera (which is available in the top model).

Center Console: Below the touchscreen, you’ll find AC vents and a hazard light switch. There’s a traction control switch, a 12V charging outlet, a Type-A USB port, and a wireless charging pad for mobile devices. The car comes with a CVT automatic transmission. It offers multiple drive modes, including EV mode, Power mode (indicated by red lighting), Eco mode (green/blue lighting), and other drive modes. A manual handbrake, two cup holders, and a sliding armrest with storage complete the center console.

Rear Seating and Comfort: The rear cabin offers ample legroom and comfort. It includes rear AC vents with silver surrounds and two USB ports (Type-A and Type-C) for charging. The panoramic sunroof provides an expansive view, enhancing the cabin’s airy feel. The fabric seats are comfortable, and all three rear headrests are adjustable. A central armrest with two cup holders is also present.

Additional Interior Features: Other interior features include an auto-dimming IRVM, a sunglass holder, yellow roof lights, a microphone, and controls for the panoramic sunroof. Both driver and co-driver sun visors come with a vanity mirror and light. The glove box provides storage for documents and other items.

Boot Space and Fuel Capacity

The Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid offers a boot space of 373 liters. Due to the placement of the hybrid battery, there is a minor reduction in space. For CNG variants, the boot space is further reduced. The boot includes a parcel tray, a boot light, a 12V charging outlet, and a hook. The fuel tank capacity for petrol is 45 liters. A CNG option is also available.

Safety Features

The Maruti Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid prioritizes safety with a comprehensive suite of features. These include ABS with EBD, six airbags (standard from the base model), reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seat belt warnings, an engine immobilizer, crash sensors, automatic headlamps, and traction control.

Warranty and Color Options

The car comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km, which can be extended for an additional charge. The Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid is available in a variety of colors, including Silver (as seen), White, Red, and a Green launch color.

Competition

The Maruti Grand Vitara ZTA+ Hybrid competes strongly with other SUVs in its segment, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Grand Vitara stands out with its excellent mileage, robust features, appealing looks, and strong resale value. It also boasts a good wheelbase of 2600 mm for enhanced stability and cabin space.
