The Kia Sonet stands out as a feature-loaded sub-compact SUV, now presenting an exciting new HTK Optional variant. This new option brings extra features like a sunroof, making it an even more attractive choice in its segment. The Sonet combines excellent looks with a strong set of features, ready to compete fiercely with other cars in its class.

Price and Engine Options

The Kia Sonet has a wide price range, starting from around 8 lakh rupees for the base model and going up to approximately 18 lakh rupees for the top-end variant.

When it comes to power, you have choices:

  • Wheels: You’ll find stylish steel rims that visually mimic alloy wheels, featuring Kia branding on the wheel covers. The tire section is 215/60 R16. Front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear uses drum brakes. Black cladding around the wheels adds to its rugged look.

  • Fuel Tank: The diesel variant has a 45-liter fuel capacity, and for diesel, you will also need AdBlue (urea).
  • Warranty: The Sonet comes with a 3-year, unlimited kilometer warranty, which can be extended further.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

Step inside the Sonet and experience a well-designed cabin.

  • Doors: Blacked-out door trims enhance the interior aesthetics. A premium feature, sun blinds, are available on the rear doors. The door openers have a silver finish. Power window controls, speakers, and bottle holders are conveniently placed in the doors. The driver’s door includes controls for all four power windows, door locks, and ORVM adjustments.
  • Seats: The seats are made of fabric. The front driver and passenger seats offer both height adjustment and recline options for comfort. The rear seats are 100% foldable, providing flexibility for luggage, though they do not have a 60/40 split option. Fixed headrests are provided for all passengers.
  • Dashboard: The dashboard has a black theme with silver inserts.
  • Sunroof: A key feature in the HTK Optional variant is the sunroof, enhancing the open-air feel.
  • Climate Control: This optional variant also adds automatic climate control, ensuring a comfortable cabin temperature. Rear passengers benefit from AC vents with silver surrounds and two Type-C USB ports for charging devices.
  • Infotainment: A large 8 to 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is central to the dashboard. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with USB connectivity. Higher variants may even offer a 360-degree camera and ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems).
  • Driver’s Cockpit: The steering wheel features Kia branding, controls for the multi-information display (MID) on the right, and controls for telephony and infotainment on the left, accented with a silver finish. The steering wheel can be adjusted for both tilt and telescopic reach. Automatic headlamp controls are on the left stalk, and wiper controls are on the right stalk.
  • Instrument Cluster: A fully digital instrument cluster provides a wealth of information, including speedometer, temperature, fuel gauge, trip details, average mileage, range, ODO, and even a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). For diesel variants, AdBlue levels are also displayed.
  • Console & Storage: The center console includes space for a phone, a 12V charging outlet, and both Type-A and Type-C USB ports. It houses a 6-speed manual transmission (automatic options are available), two glass holders, and a manual handbrake. A standard armrest from the base variant offers convenient storage space underneath.
  • Other Interior Highlights: The glovebox is standard (not cooled). A manual IRVM and a sunglass holder are also present. Sun visors include a ticket holder on the driver’s side and a vanity mirror on the passenger’s side.

Powerful Engine Performance

The Kia Sonet offers versatile engine choices for different driving needs.

  • 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder Diesel Engine: This engine produces 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque, delivering an impressive mileage of approximately 21-22 kmpl.
  • 1.2-liter Petrol Engine: For those preferring petrol, this engine offers 82 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque, with a mileage of around 19 kmpl.
