Mahindra XUV700: Base Model W4 vs. Top Model AX7 Comparison
This article compares two popular versions of the Mahindra XUV700: the W4 Base Model and the AX7 Top Model. There are many differences between these two models, with a price difference of approximately 4 lakh rupees. The XUV700 is available in various options, including W4, W6, W8, AX7, and AX7L.
Key and Central Locking
The Base Model comes with a simple key and does not have central locking. In contrast, the Top Model features a smart key that includes central locking for added convenience.
Front Exterior Features
For the front look, the Base Model has normal headlights, a black grille, and no chrome details. It also does not feature DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) or fog lamps. The Top Model, however, boasts projector headlights, DRLs, and chrome accents on its grille. It also includes fog lamps and front parking sensors. Both models come equipped with a sunroof and roof rails.
Side Profile and Wheels
Looking at the side, the Top Model features large 16-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes on all four wheels. The Base Model has normal 16-inch steel wheels. Both models use tires sized 205/65 R16.
Door handles match the body color on both models. The Top Model offers keyless entry and electric adjustable/foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with integrated turn indicators. The Base Model lacks these keyless entry and electric folding ORVM features and does not include a running board.
Rear Exterior Features
At the rear, the Base Model does not have a rear wiper, defogger, or an integrated spoiler. It features a black rear bumper without a skid plate. The Top Model includes a rear wiper, a defogger, an integrated spoiler, and roof rails. It also has a silver-colored skid plate on the rear bumper. Both models offer the same boot space. The Top Model comes with a parcel tray, which is not present in the Base Model but can be added later.
Interior and Comfort
Inside the cabin, the Base Model has fabric seats, manual AC controls, and no audio system. It also lacks steering-mounted controls and cruise control. The Top Model, in contrast, offers leatherette seats, a driver seat height adjustment feature, and a touch infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It includes fully automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, and cruise control. Both models have power windows. The Top Model also comes with an armrest that has storage space.
Safety and Other Details
Regarding safety, the Base Model includes two airbags. The Top Model comes with six airbags, traction control, and a vanity mirror with a light for the passenger.
