2025 Tata Tiago XT Second Top Model Price, Features, and Review

Discover the Tata Tiago: A 4-Star Rated Hatchback with Advanced Features

The Tata Tiago is a well-regarded 4-star rated hatchback car, now available with updated features and pricing. This article explores the second top model, the XZA automatic variant, highlighting its key attributes and benefits.

Introduction to the Tata Tiago

The Tata Tiago offers an excellent blend of safety and features. The XZA automatic variant is a popular choice, priced at ₹8,05,000. For those preferring manual transmission, the difference is around ₹50,000 to ₹55,000, making the manual variant about ₹7,50,000. Engine options are diverse, including petrol, bi-fuel, CNG, and electric (EV). Thanks to new GST rates, the car’s prices have decreased. The base model now starts from ₹4,57,000 ex-showroom, down from ₹5,50,000. Buyers can save approximately ₹70,000 to ₹75,000 on this specific variant.

Stylish Front Design

The front of the Tata Tiago features a glossy black grille with the iconic Tata logo in the center. It comes equipped with LED automatic headlamps that include integrated indicators. A chrome strip extends across the front, connecting both headlamps. The lower grille is entirely black, and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are present. Fog lamps are not included in this variant but are available in the top model. The front engine area is open, without an engine guard. The car offers a good ground clearance of 170 mm. Additionally, it features automatic rain-sensing wipers. The roof is plain, though a dual-tone option may be available in higher models.

Elegant Side Profile and Wheels

From the side, the Tata Tiago maintains a premium look. It comes with a generous warranty of 3.5 lakh kilometers, which can be extended. The wheels are 15-inch hyperstyle, giving an alloy wheel appearance, with a dual-tone finish and the Tata logo. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels use drum brakes. The tires are 175/65 R15 radial. The Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) are auto-foldable and include indicators. The A-pillar matches the body color, while the B-pillar is finished in matt black. The door handles on this second top model feature a chrome finish. When compared to competitors like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios or Maruti Wagon R, the Tiago stands out with its superior build quality and 4-star safety rating.

Vehicle Dimensions and Fuel Options

The Tata Tiago measures 3765 mm in length, 1677 mm in width, and 1535 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2400 mm. The petrol fuel tank capacity is 35 liters. For CNG variants, the filling nozzle is located in the same area as the petrol filler. The car featured here is in a striking Arizona Blue color.

Functional Rear Design and Boot Space

The rear profile of the Tata Tiago includes the Tata logo, the Tiago badge, and a reverse parking camera located below the logo. It features a defogger, but a rear wiper is only available in the top model. A high-mount stop lamp and a shark fin antenna are present, along with a glossy black sporty pad. The taillights are standard halogen bulbs, incorporating both indicators and reverse lights. The rear bumper is dual-tone and houses two ultrasonic parking sensors. The rear suspension setup is also visible, with an exhaust pipe on the right side.

The boot offers a capacity of 242 liters, which is ample for luggage. It comes with a parcel tray and 100% foldable rear seats. A hook capable of holding up to 3 kg is also provided. The spare tire is a 13-inch steel rim, two sizes smaller than the main tires, and is stored beneath the boot floor, along with the jack and tool kit. In CNG variants, twin cylinders are placed here, still leaving a good amount of space.

Comfortable Interior Features

Stepping inside, the door trims feature a dual-tone finish. Controls for the power windows, door opener, speaker, and bottle holder are integrated into the doors. All seats are upholstered in fabric. A significant upgrade in this facelift model is the large 10.25-inch touchscreen. The cabin also features a new steering wheel and an updated climate control panel. A white LED roof light illuminates the interior. There are no rear AC vents. The floor is slightly raised. Legroom and kneeroom are average for a car in this hatchback segment. The headroom is also suitable. For safety, this variant, like all others, includes dual airbags. The rear area includes a parcel tray and two fixed headrests, along with three-point seatbelts and ISOFIX child seat mounts for securing child seats.

Driver-Focused Controls and Technology

From the driver’s perspective, the door trim, like the rear, is dual-tone. It houses controls for all four power windows, the door opener, and ORVM adjustments. Speakers and bottle holders are also in the doors. The dashboard has a fresh, new design. The fabric seats offer both height adjustment and recline options. Levers for opening the fuel lid and boot are positioned conveniently. The automatic variant has separate pedals for brake and accelerator, plus a dead pedal, and a lever for opening the bonnet.

Upon turning on the ignition, a fully digital instrument cluster comes to life. The new steering wheel features an illuminated logo but no leather wrap. It includes controls for telephone and infotainment, as well as for the Multi-Information Display (MID). The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable. Both the headlamps and wipers are automatic. The cluster displays RPM, digital speed, fuel information, temperature bars, and details like neutral gear, audio, range, trip meters, and outside temperature. While TPMS is available in the top model, this variant offers comprehensive information accessible via buttons.

The large 10.25-inch touchscreen is a central highlight, offering Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and USB connectivity. It also displays the reverse parking camera feed, which provides a clear view and can be zoomed for convenience. Below the screen, the automatic climate control panel allows easy adjustment of fan speed, temperature, and airflow. The center console has a glossy black finish with chrome treatment around the AC vents. Other features include a 12V charging outlet, a Type-A USB port, and small storage spaces. The car has an automatic transmission shifter, two cup holders, and a manual handbrake. There is no armrest in this model. The cooled glove box includes a tablet holder and helps keep items cool. The IRVM is manually adjustable. The co-driver’s sun visor has a vanity mirror, and the driver’s side has a ticket holder.

Engine Performance and Mileage

Under the bonnet, the Tata Tiago is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. While 3-cylinder engines can sometimes be slightly noisier than 4-cylinder engines, proper insulation helps reduce noise inside the cabin. The engine delivers 84 BHP of power and approximately 113 to 114 Nm of torque. In terms of fuel economy, the petrol variant offers a mileage of 19 to 20 kmpl. For those opting for the CNG variant, the mileage increases significantly to 26 to 28 kmpl, though the power output will be slightly lower.

Pricing and Key Safety Features

The Tata Tiago XZA automatic, which is the second top model, has an ex-showroom price of ₹6,99,000. Including RTO charges of ₹55,000 and insurance of ₹37,000, the on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹8,05,000. The manual variant, the XZ, is priced at around ₹6,40,000 ex-showroom, with an on-road price of about ₹7,50,000.

Safety features are a strong point for the Tata Tiago, contributing to its 4-star safety rating. These include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seat belt warnings, an engine immobilizer, a crash sensor, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

This comprehensive overview highlights the Tata Tiago’s strong points as a safe, feature-rich, and value-for-money hatchback car.
