Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sport CNG: Amazing Features & Big Savings

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is a popular car, and the Sport CNG variant is a top seller. This model offers excellent features and comes with significant price benefits after the new GST implementation. Let’s explore everything this car has to offer in detail.

Amazing Price Benefits After New GST

The new GST rules have made the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios much more affordable. The Sport CNG variant, which previously cost ₹5,98,000, is now priced at ₹5,47,000. This means a saving of ₹51,000 on the base model alone.

The Sport Petrol variant has also seen a substantial price reduction. Its ex-showroom price was ₹7,42,000, but it is now ₹6,79,000. This translates to an ex-showroom saving of ₹63,000. Overall, customers can expect to save roughly ₹75,000 on the petrol variant (on-road) and ₹80,000 to ₹85,000 on the CNG variant compared to previous prices.

Stylish Exterior Features

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sport CNG boasts a modern and appealing exterior.

Front Design: The front features a glossy black grille with the Hyundai logo in the center. It includes automatic projector headlamps with yellow lights and integrated indicators. Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are positioned below, adding to its contemporary look.

Ground Clearance & Key: This car provides a ground clearance of approximately 165 mm, suitable for various road conditions. It comes with a remote interlocking key for convenience.

Roof, ORVMs, and Wheels: The roof is plain, but a dual-tone roof option is available. Black roof rails are present, and the A-pillars match the body color. The Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) are electrically adjustable and foldable from inside the car. The door handles are also body-colored. The car rides on 175/60R15 inch radial tires fitted with stylish steel wheel covers. It uses disk brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The B-pillar is finished in black.

Fuel System: The car has a petrol fuel tank capacity of 37 liters. For the CNG variant, the tank holds about 8-9 kg of CNG, with the actual amount depending on the CNG pump’s pressure.

Rear Design: The rear profile is striking, featuring connected LED taillights that enhance its premium feel. The Hyundai logo is in the center, with “Nios” badging below it. A reverse parking camera is integrated into the design. As a CNG variant, it proudly displays a “CNG” badge. The LED taillights include turn indicators and a reverse light. A defogger is present, but there is no rear wiper. A high-mount stop lamp is also included. The body-colored bumper houses two reverse parking sensors and reflectors on both sides. A black plate is visible at the bottom.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

The interior of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sport CNG is designed for comfort and connectivity.

Door Trims & Controls: The door trims are dual-tone. The front doors feature power window controls, a grey-finished door opener, speakers, and bottle holders. All four windows have power controls. The driver’s door includes controls for ORVM adjustment, including the option to fold and unfold them.

Dashboard & Seating: The dashboard follows a dual-tone theme. The seats are fabric (seat covers are an accessory). The driver’s seat offers height adjustment and recline options. Child locks are present on the doors for safety.

Driver’s Area: Inside, there is blue lighting for the pedals, and a dead pedal is provided. Controls for traction control, switching between CNG and petrol, and headlamp level adjustment are conveniently placed. The car uses a flip remote central locking key with lock, unlock, and boot unlock buttons. A normal physical key is also supplied.

Steering Wheel & Instrument Cluster: The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable and leather-wrapped (an accessory). It features the Hyundai logo in the center. MID (Multi-Information Display) controls are on one side, while telephone and infotainment controls are on the other. Cruise control is not offered in this variant. The instrument cluster is fully analog, displaying a speedometer marked up to 220 km/h, an RPM meter, and petrol information. CNG bars are displayed on the side. The MID screen provides comprehensive driving information, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) data, door light status, service intervals, language settings, and trip details.

Infotainment & AC: An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and USB connectivity. It also includes a high-quality reverse parking camera display. Physical buttons for radio and media are available. Manual AC controls allow adjustment of air flow, fan speed, and temperature. Below the AC controls, there’s a 12V charging outlet, along with Type A and Type C USB ports.

Gearbox & Storage: The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The center console includes two glass holders, a manual handbrake, and small storage compartments. Six airbags are standard (two front, two seat-mounted, and curtain airbags). There’s a grab handle and a microphone. The passenger sun visor has a vanity mirror, while the driver’s sun visor includes a ticket holder. The glovebox is of standard size and does not offer a cooling function.

Rear Passenger Comfort: Rear passengers benefit from dedicated AC vents and a 12V charging outlet, features often absent in competitor cars. Legroom and thigh support are generous. The roof light uses a yellow halogen bulb. The rear seat can accommodate three people comfortably, with seat belt points for all. Two adjustable headrests are provided, but there is no armrest. Headroom is also ample, ensuring a comfortable ride.

Boot Space: The car offers 260 liters of boot space when no CNG tank is installed. However, with the dual CNG cylinders (two 30 kg cylinders), the boot space is reduced to approximately 150 liters. Luggage can still be placed above the cylinders. Instead of a spare tire, a puncture repair kit (tire mobility kit) is provided.

Powerful and Efficient Engine

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sport CNG is powered by a reliable and efficient engine.

Engine Type: It features a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine. Being a 4-cylinder engine, it offers a quieter operation compared to 3-cylinder rivals.

Performance & Mileage: This engine delivers 82 BHP of power and approximately 113 Nm of torque. In petrol mode, it achieves a mileage of about 19 km/l. When running on CNG, the power output is slightly lower, but it provides an excellent mileage of up to 28 km/kg, making it very economical for daily use.

Dimensions and Color Options

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is a compact yet spacious hatchback.

Dimensions: It has a length of 3815 mm, a width of 1680 mm, and a height of 1520 mm. The wheelbase measures 2450 mm, contributing to its stable ride.

Colors: A wide array of color options are available, including white, grey, silver, teal, and spark green. For those seeking a more distinctive look, a dual-tone roof option is also offered with the Sport variant.
