Discovering the Value: A Detailed Look at a Popular Car’s Base Variant

This article gives a detailed review of a car’s base variant. While it might not have all the fancy features, it offers great value for your money. This car is a very popular choice for many.

Price and Available Variants

The car starts at ₹6.4 lakh (ex-showroom). The top variant costs around ₹10 lakh. You can choose between petrol and diesel engines. Both manual and DCA automatic options are available. There are six variants in total: XE, XM, XT, XZ, XZ+, and XZA+. The top variant includes features like projector headlamps, an automatic climate control system, and a reverse parking camera.

Front Exterior Design

The front of the car has a simple design with the Tata logo. The grill is fully black and includes a chrome strip. Headlamps are normal halogen types. Indicators are on the side. This base variant does not have DRLs or fog lamps, but you can add them later as accessories. The lower grill is also black. The car offers 165mm of ground clearance. It also features dual wipers.

Side Profile and Dimensions

The side profile looks simple, and you can add accessories like wheel covers later. The door handles are body-colored. The car’s length is 3990mm, width is 1755mm, and height is 1523mm. The wheelbase measures 2501mm. The side indicators are glossy black and located on the fenders. The side mirrors are manually adjustable.

Rear Design and Boot Space

The rear profile includes reflectors. The exhaust pipe is visible below. The car has a good ground clearance of around 165mm, which is suitable for a hatchback. The boot opens with a magnetic sensor and offers a large space of 345 liters. There is a hook, but a parcel tray is not provided. A punch repair kit is included.

Comfortable Rear Seating

The rear doors open wide, up to 90 degrees. This base variant does not have rear power window controls; only front controls are available. Speakers need to be installed separately. The seats are made of fabric. The legroom is good and comfortable. The door panels have handles, but no armrests are present.

Driver’s Cockpit and Engine Details

The car comes with a 1.2-liter petrol engine. It produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, offering around 19 kmpl mileage. For diesel, you get a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine with 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque, giving about 23 kmpl mileage. The DCA automatic transmission is only available with the petrol engine.

The driver’s door handles are body-colored. Remote locking can be added as an accessory. The door panel is dual-tone and includes front power window controls. Speakers need to be installed. The dashboard is simple. The seats are fabric and only offer a recline option. The instrument cluster shows a speedometer (up to 220 kmph) and a multi-information display (MID) for average mileage and range. The steering wheel has no controls, but you can add an audio system later. Wiper and headlight controls are present. The steering can be adjusted for tilt. There is no music system, charging socket, or USB port in this base variant. It has a 5-speed manual gearbox and two cup holders. The glove box is spacious with a document holder. The cabin light is fixed, and sun visors are basic.

Safety Features and Warranty

This car offers good safety. It has a 5-star safety rating. Key safety features include ABS with EBD, two airbags, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seatbelt warnings, and an engine immobilizer. The top variants offer even more safety features. The car comes with a warranty of 2 years or 75,000 km.

Color Options and Competition

The car is available in White. A Dark Edition is also offered, which features an all-black exterior and interior, giving it a very stylish look. This car competes with popular models like the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.
