2024 Renault Kwid Climber Review: Price, Features, and Updates

The Updated Renault Kwid 2024: A Closer Look at the Compact Car

The Renault Kwid has received significant updates for 2024, making it an even more compelling option in the compact car segment. This review delves into the refreshed design, enhanced features, and performance of the latest Kwid model, especially highlighting the popular Climber variant.

Striking Exterior Design

The 2024 Renault Kwid boasts a muscular and appealing front profile, which gives it a strong road presence for a compact car. It features a prominent Renault logo and a blacked-out lower grille with a grey skid plate, adding to its rugged appeal. The car comes with a remote central locking key, including lock and unlock buttons.

From the side, the Kwid features 14-inch steel wheels designed to give the impression of alloys, complemented by black cladding. The dual-tone variants, like the Climber, come with a stylish black roof and a power antenna. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes ensure adequate stopping power.

The rear profile continues the modern design with Kwid and Renault badging. It includes three reverse parking sensors and a skid plate, mirroring the front design. The high-mount stop lamp enhances visibility.

Robust Dimensions and Engine Specifications

The Renault Kwid offers a generous ground clearance of 184 mm, making it well-suited for varying road conditions. The car is powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 67 bhp of power and 91 Nm of torque. This engine is designed to provide a mileage of approximately 20-22 kmpl. The fuel tank capacity is 28 liters, and the fuel cap is conveniently located at the rear, opening via a lever near the driver’s seat.

Thoughtful Interior and Comfort

Step inside the 2024 Kwid, and you’ll find an all-black interior with a well-laid-out dashboard. The fabric seats feature an attractive black and yellow finish in the Climber variant, providing comfortable seating. Rear passengers get fixed headrests and seatbelt points, with the added safety of a rear seat belt reminder, a new feature for 2024. Legroom in the rear is considered average for its segment.

The driver-centric cockpit includes a digital instrument cluster that displays vital information like RPM, temperature, fuel gauge, trip details, range, and average fuel economy. The steering wheel features the Renault logo, along with controls for telephone, volume, and various modes.

Advanced Infotainment and Connectivity

A significant update for 2024 is the larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a step up from the previous 7-inch unit. This system offers seamless connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with USB and AUX ports. It also integrates a reverse parking camera, providing clear visuals for easy maneuvering.

The center console is finished in gloss black, housing manual AC controls for fan speed and air flow, hazard light switch, and front power window controls. You’ll also find a 12V charging outlet, a Type A USB port, and various storage spaces for coins and other small items. The automatic variants feature a dial for Drive, Neutral, and Reverse selections.

Enhanced Safety Features

Safety is a priority in the updated Kwid, which comes with a comprehensive suite of features:

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
