Discover the Key Features of this Modern Hatchback

This article provides an in-depth look at a popular hatchback, highlighting its design, features, performance, and safety. We will explore everything from its exterior styling to its comfortable interior and practical engine options.

Sleek Exterior Design

The front of the car features dual wipers and a washer for clear visibility. The roof is plain and includes functional roof rails. Moving to the side, you will notice stylish steel rims that give the impression of alloy wheels. These are 15-inch wheels with 175/60R15 Radial tires. The car comes with a standard 3-year or 1 lakh kilometer warranty, which can be extended for an additional cost.

Body-colored door handles and side mirrors enhance the car’s aesthetic. The B-pillar is finished in matte black. The fuel filler cap, located on the rear side, is for petrol, and the car has a 37-liter fuel tank capacity. It also features G10 badging, black roof rails, and a shark fin antenna. For braking, the front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels use drum brakes.

Practical and Stylish Rear Profile

The back profile of the car is both stylish and practical. It features LED backlights with a connected design, although only the outer sections illuminate. These outer lights also house the indicators and reverse lights. The Sport variant includes specific badging.

Other rear features include a defogger, a high-mounted stop lamp, and a shark fin antenna. Black roof rails are also present. You will find i10 and Grand i10 Nios badging on the rear. The bumper is body-colored and includes two reverse parking sensors. The Sport variant also comes with a reverse parking camera. A black rear skid plate, rear suspension setup, and exhaust pipe complete the rear view.

Spacious and Versatile Boot

The car offers a generous boot space of 242 liters, perfect for carrying luggage and other items. The boot area includes a light, which is helpful in low-light conditions, and a parcel tray. The rear seats are 100% foldable, allowing for even more cargo capacity, and feature adjustable headrests.

The spare tire, a normal steel rim, is placed beneath the boot floor along with the jack and toolkit. If opting for a CNG variant, the boot space will be reduced due to the CNG tank.

Color Options and Dimensions

This car is available in several attractive colors, including White, Silver, Gray, Aqua Teal, and Blue.

In terms of dimensions, the car measures 3815 millimeters in length, 1680 millimeters in width, and 1520 millimeters in height.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

The interior features a dual-tone theme. The rear doors have a dual-tone trim, a gray door opener, power window controls, a speaker, and a bottle holder. The seats are upholstered in fabric. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated AC vents, a feature often not found in competitor vehicles.

Standard safety features include dual airbags. The driver’s seat offers height adjustment, and the car comes with remote central locking and adjustable headrests for all seats. The roof light provides illumination. The car offers good legroom for two rear passengers, with space for a third person to adjust comfortably. It also includes grab handles, a parcel tray, and three-point seatbelts. This variant does not feature a rear armrest.

The front driver’s side door continues the dual-tone trim and includes a body-colored door handle, door opener, controls for all four power windows, lock/unlock buttons, and ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror) adjustment controls. It also has a speaker and bottle holder. The dashboard has a premium dual-tone look.

The seats in the front are semi-leatherette, combining leatherette on the sides with fabric in the middle. The driver’s seat comes with height adjustment as a standard feature from the base model, along with a recline option. Other controls include a fuel lid opener, manual transmission pedals (accelerator, brake, clutch), a dead pedal, and a lever for opening the bonnet. There are also switches for traction control and headlight leveling.

Advanced Dashboard and Steering Controls

The dashboard features a dual-tone design. The instrument cluster includes a tachometer on the left, a speedometer (marked up to 220 km/h) on the right, and a multi-information display (MID) in the center. The MID shows drive information, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) status, door light warnings, service intervals, language settings, and reset options, all controlled by dedicated buttons. Fuel gauge bars and temperature bars are also displayed.

The steering wheel, finished in a stylish grey, proudly displays the car brand’s logo. The right side of the steering wheel has controls for cruise control and the air conditioning system, while the left side features controls for telephony and infotainment modes. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable, allowing drivers to find a comfortable position. The car also features automatic headlight controls and manual wiper controls.

The center console houses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity. Below this, there’s a convenient space for placing mobile phones or other small items. The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, two cup holders, and a handbrake. Six airbags are standard for enhanced safety. The passenger side also includes storage space in the door trim and a glove box for documents and personal items. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is manually adjustable. A microphone is provided for hands-free communication. The driver’s sun visor includes a ticket holder, while the passenger’s sun visor features a vanity mirror.

The Sport variant is particularly well-equipped, offering all essential features for daily driving needs, making it a comprehensive option for buyers.

Engine Specifications and Performance

This car is available exclusively with a petrol engine option, which can also be had with a bi-fuel CNG setup. It is powered by a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, indicated by the ‘1.2 Kappa’ badging. The engine bay, while lacking insulation (due to the engine’s inherent refinement), showcases the robust engine placement.

The 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 82 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. It offers a fuel efficiency of approximately 19 to 20 kilometers per liter. The CNG variant will have slightly lower power output compared to the petrol version.

Pricing and Safety Features

The Sport petrol variant is priced at ₹6,36,000 (ex-showroom). The on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹7,80,000. For the CNG variant, expect an on-road price difference of roughly ₹1,00,000 more than the petrol model.

Safety is a priority, with this hatchback offering a comprehensive suite of features. These include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), six airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, seat belt warning, an engine immobilizer, and crash sensors.
