Significant Savings and Pricing Updates

Drivers can enjoy notable financial benefits with the new pricing structure. The Tata Nexon, in its Royal Blue color, now offers savings of approximately ₹1,10,000 compared to previous prices. The ex-showroom price for the Pure Plus S variant has dropped from around ₹10,00,000 to ₹9,14,000, which means an ex-showroom saving of ₹85,000. On the road, these savings can amount to roughly ₹1,00,000 to ₹1,50,000. The base model also sees a reduction, now starting at ₹7,31,890 ex-showroom, down from ₹7,99,990.

The Nexon offers a wide range of engine choices, including petrol, CNG, diesel, and electric vehicle (EV) options.

Impressive Exterior Design and Features

The Nexon boasts a powerful and striking look. The front features a large Tata logo set against a glossy black grille, complemented by a matte black lower grille. Dual-functional LED automatic headlamps, along with DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) and indicators, ensure good visibility. This specific variant does not include fog lamps. A tow hook is thoughtfully placed in the bumper.

The SUV offers a substantial ground clearance of 208 mm. Practical features like automatic rain-sensing wipers and an electric sunroof enhance the driving experience. Roof rails add to its robust appearance.

Robust Side Profile and Wheels

On the side, the Tata Nexon Pure Plus S includes auto-foldable Outer Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated turn indicators, which fold and unfold automatically when locking or unlocking the vehicle. The car comes with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, extendable for further peace of mind.

Key features that make this variant a great deal include a touchscreen display, a reverse parking camera, remote central locking, and six airbags. The Nexon is available in various appealing colors such as Royal Blue, White, Grey, and a Dark Edition. Please note that the Red color option has been discontinued.

It rides on 16-inch wheels with front disc brakes, and the tires are 195/60R16 radial. Black cladding runs along the side, adding to its SUV stance. The A and B pillars are finished in black. Body-colored door handles contribute to its sleek design. The fuel tank capacity for petrol is approximately 44 liters, located at the rear. Rear brakes are normal drum brakes.

Functional Rear Design and Boot Space

The rear profile highlights a central Tata logo with a reverse parking camera positioned below it. A prominent Nexon badge is also present. The LED backlights illuminate partially in this variant, with the full connected light feature available in higher models. Indicators are integrated into the taillights. This specific variant does not come with a rear defogger or a rear wiper. A high-mounted stop lamp and a shark fin antenna are standard. The bumper includes reflectors, reverse lights, and two ultrasonic parking sensors.

Accessing the boot is convenient; simply long-press the follow-me headlamp button to open the boot gate. The boot offers a generous 385 liters of storage space, though it does not include a parcel tray. The rear seats fold down as a single unit (100% fold), without a 60-40 split option. A 16-inch steel rim spare tire, along with the jack and tool kit, is provided. Hooks are also available for securing items. CNG variants feature a twin-cylinder setup in the boot, still leaving usable space above.

The Tata Nexon’s dimensions are:

  • Length: 3995 mm
  • Width: 1804 mm
  • Height: 1620 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2498 mm

In its segment, the Nexon competes with vehicles like the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Brezza, and Kia Sonet. The Nexon stands out for its fantastic looks, comprehensive features, and robust five-star build quality.

Stepping inside, the rear doors feature a dual-tone trim with body-colored handles, power window controls, and glossy black door openers. Speakers and bottle holders are integrated into the doors. The seats are upholstered in fabric and include ISOFIX child seat mounts, making it safe for children.

The cabin offers a spacious feel with ample legroom, kneeroom, and thigh support, ensuring a comfortable ride for passengers. Headroom is also generous. Rear AC vents are provided for passenger comfort, though there are no USB ports or 12V charging outlets for rear occupants in this variant. The overall build quality of the interior feels solid.

Advanced Driver-Focused Cabin (Front)

The driver’s door features a child lock. The key is a flip-style remote central locking unit with buttons for lock, unlock, and follow-me headlamps; a second normal manual key is also provided. The door trim includes power window controls for all four windows, door opener, ORVM adjustment controls, a speaker, bottle holder, and even an umbrella holder.

The dashboard maintains a dual-tone theme. The fabric seats offer height adjustment and recline options. For manual transmission, the ABC pedals are present, along with a lever to open the bonnet.

Upon turning on the ignition, a large, fully digital instrument cluster comes to life, displaying various vehicle information and check lights. The new steering wheel features an illuminated Tata logo, a flat-bottom design, and controls for the Multi-Information Display (MID) as well as telephonic and infotainment functions. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable. Automatic headlamp and wiper controls are conveniently located. The MID screen provides information such as Trip A, Trip B, average mileage, and range.

A large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system dominates the center console in the Pure Plus S variant (lower variants have a 7-inch screen). This system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX connectivity. It also displays a clear reverse parking camera feed with a zoom function. The AC vents have a black finish. This variant features a manual AC with controls for fan speed, temperature, and flow.

Other interior highlights include a hazard light switch, a separate button for boot unlock, a 12V charging outlet, and a Type-A USB port. The car is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and offers three drive modes: City, Eco, and Sport. A manual handbrake and a fixed armrest with storage space underneath are also present.

The glove box is deep, offering ample storage, along with glass holders and a document holder. The Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) is manually adjustable. White LED roof lights provide good illumination. A microphone is integrated, and information regarding the co-driver’s airbag status (on/off) is displayed. The electric sunroof controls are easily accessible, and the sunroof can be opened to enhance the cabin experience. Sun visors include a ticket holder on the driver’s side and a vanity mirror on the co-driver’s side.

Engine Performance and Fuel Efficiency

The Tata Nexon is unique in its segment for offering a complete range of engine options: petrol, bi-fuel CNG, diesel, and EV, unlike many competitors who might miss out on specific fuel types.

The petrol engine is a 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron unit, producing 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. It delivers a mileage of around 19 kmpl.

For those preferring diesel, there’s a 1.5L 4-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine, generating 114 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. This engine is more fuel-efficient, offering a mileage of 20-21 kmpl.

Pricing Details and Safety Focus

As mentioned earlier, significant savings are now available. The Pure Plus S petrol variant, which previously had an ex-showroom price of ₹9,99,990, is now priced at ₹9,14,890 ex-showroom. The on-road price for this petrol variant is approximately ₹11,45,678. For the CNG variant, expect to pay around ₹1,10,000 more than the petrol version.

Safety is a cornerstone of the Tata Nexon. It comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), six airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seatbelt warnings, engine crash sensors, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
