Fresh Look: New Mahindra Logo

A standout feature is the stylish new butterfly-style Mahindra logo. This modern logo enhances the vehicle’s appearance, appearing on the grille, alloy wheels, steering wheel, infotainment system, and even the smart flip key. It gives the car a contemporary feel that drivers will appreciate.

Pricing and Available Variants

The base variant of this vehicle starts at an attractive price of ₹8.41 Lakh. For those seeking premium features, the top model is available for up to ₹15 Lakh. The car comes in four distinct variants: W4, W6, W8, and the top-of-the-line W8 (O). Customers can choose from both single-tone and dual-tone color options to match their style.

Exterior Design and Lighting

The front grille boasts the new Mahindra logo along with chrome inserts, giving it a sophisticated look. The headlight unit features projector lamps and DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) positioned on the sides with negative turn indicators. While fog lamps are not standard, they can be installed later. The lower grille is black, with an option for chrome accents. An engine guard is also provided for added protection.

Moving up, the car features a dual-wiper setup, with sensing wipers available in the top model. A sunroof option is provided for diesel variants (W6, W8, W8 (O)), but it is not available in the petrol top model.

Side Profile and Wheels

From the side, the vehicle showcases 16-inch silver-finish alloy wheels, proudly featuring the new Mahindra logo. Black body cladding runs along the lower parts, adding to its rugged appeal. The outside mirrors are body-colored and electrically adjustable. Black roof rails complete the muscular side profile. Notably, all four wheels come with disc brakes, a standard feature from the base variant.

Rear Design and Features

The rear profile also highlights the new Mahindra logo. Key features include a reverse parking camera, a rear wiper, a defogger, and a high-mount stop lamp. The tail lights are full LED units, offering excellent visibility and a striking appearance at night. A silver-finish skid plate is an optional add-on. The black bumper integrates reflectors and two parking sensors for easier maneuvering.

Dimensions and Ground Clearance

This vehicle offers generous dimensions:

  • Length: 3995 mm
  • Width: 1821 mm
  • Height: 1627 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2600 mm
  • Turning Radius: 5.3 meters

The ground clearance is 180 mm. While the ground clearance and boot space are functional, some might find room for improvement in these areas.

Engine Performance and Efficiency

The Mahindra XUV offers two robust engine options:

  • 1.5-liter Turbo Diesel Engine: This engine delivers 115 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, offering an approximate mileage of 20 kilometers per liter. This diesel engine remains unchanged from previous versions.
  • 1.2-liter Turbo Petrol Engine: This option provides 110 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, with an estimated mileage of 17 kilometers per liter.

Both engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission choices.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Inside, the car features a dual-tone door panel on the driver’s side, equipped with power window controls, electrically adjustable ORVM controls, a chrome door opener, a speaker, a bottle holder, and storage space.

The steering wheel, adorned with the new Mahindra logo, includes controls for the infotainment system and telephony on the left, and cruise control on the right. It also offers tilt adjustment for driver comfort.

Seats in the second-top variant come in fabric, with height adjustment for both driver and passenger. The top model, however, offers premium leather seats.

The front dashboard features glossy black finish AC vents. The instrument cluster is analog, with a wide digital screen in the middle providing essential information such as Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), settings, average mileage, range, and temperature.

The infotainment system also displays the new Mahindra logo and supports Android Auto, USB, and AUX connectivity. It provides mileage information, includes four speakers, and has built-in navigation.

The center console houses a fully automatic climate control system with a glossy black finish. Below, you’ll find two USB ports, an AUX port, and a 12V charging socket, along with some storage space. The vehicle offers both manual and automatic gearbox options, an integrated handbrake, and two cup holders.

The armrest features a deep storage compartment, perfect for documents and other essentials. Other interior details include a microphone on the roof, a sun visor with a light, and a grab handle.

Rear seating is comfortable, with good legroom and foot space. While rear AC vents are not present, the car’s cooling system is noted to be very effective. All four headrests are adjustable. Three adults can comfortably sit in the rear.

Safety and Convenience

Safety is a priority, with the vehicle receiving a global safety rating in its segment. All four wheels are equipped with disc brakes as a standard feature across all variants. The W8 variant comes with dual airbags as a standard feature, while the top model offers six airbags.

Additional safety and convenience features include ABS, seatbelt warning, speed locking, power lock, reverse parking sensors, and a reverse parking camera. The top model also features automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Competition and Warranty

This Mahindra XUV competes strongly with popular models like the Tata and Maruti Brezza. It offers a solid combination of safety and a comfortable riding experience. The company provides a warranty of up to 5 years.

The Mahindra XUV stands out with its updated aesthetics, particularly the new logo, along with its comprehensive feature set, robust engine options, and strong safety credentials.
