Significant Savings with New GST

After new GST rules, the Maruti Wagon R VXI offers significant savings. The ex-showroom price is now approximately ₹5,70,000, which is a ₹53,000 reduction from the previous price of ₹6,23,000. This is due to GST benefits. The on-road price in Lucknow for the VXI variant is now around ₹6,37,000. This is a big drop from its earlier price of ₹7,20,000, saving you approximately ₹65,000 to ₹70,000. For the base model, you save ₹49,000 ex-showroom, and about ₹55,000 on-road.

Striking Exterior Design

The Maruti Wagon R VXI has a pleasing look. At the front, it features a black grille with a Suzuki logo in the middle. A chrome strip adds a nice touch. It has normal halogen headlamps with turn indicators. Fog lamps are not included but can be added later as accessories. The lower grille is also black and simple. This car offers a ground clearance of 165 mm. It is available in popular colors like white and silver, and black is also an option.

Side and Rear Details

The car has dual wipers and a plain roof. Top models offer a dual-tone roof and alloy wheels, which are not on this VXI variant. It includes a power antenna. The A and B pillars are body-colored. The side mirrors are body-colored and manually foldable, but you can adjust them from inside. Turn indicators are on the fenders. It uses 14-inch steel wheels with 165/70 R14 radial tires. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels have drum brakes. The C-pillar has a black finish. The fuel tank capacity is 32 liters, with the fuel cap opening via an inside lever. CNG variants also have their nozzle here.

At the back, you will find a Suzuki logo and Wagon R badge, plus a chrome accent. A high-mount stop lamp is present. The large tail lights use normal halogen bulbs and include indicators and reverse lights. The bumper is body-colored and has two reverse parking sensors and reflectors on both sides. The rear also shows the suspension setup and exhaust pipe.

Practical Boot Space and Car Dimensions

The Maruti Wagon R VXI offers a large boot space of 341 liters, enough for your luggage. It includes a parcel tray that can be removed. The rear seats have a 60:40 split fold option, allowing you to fold part of the seat. The spare tire, along with the jack and tool kit, is located under the boot floor. CNG variants will have less boot space due to the tank.

The car’s length is 3655 mm, width is 1620 mm, and height is 1675 mm. The wheelbase measures 2435 mm.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

The door trims are black and include power window controls, silver-finished door openers, speakers, and bottle holders. The seats are fabric and come in a dual-tone finish. The dashboard also features a dual-tone design. Even the basic model comes with six airbags, with branding visible on the pillars. Rear AC vents are not available in this car.

The Wagon R is known for its spacious interior, offering good legroom, kneeroom, and thigh support. It is one of the most spacious hatchbacks in its class, with excellent headroom. Rear passengers get two fixed headrests and three-point seat belts. However, child seat mounts (ISOFIX) are not present. A single roof light is located at the front.

Driver’s Cockpit and Dashboard

The VXI variant comes with a remote central locking key, featuring lock and unlock buttons and a Maruti logo. The driver’s door trim includes controls for all four power windows, central lock/unlock, and ORVM adjustments. The door opener has a silver finish, with speakers and bottle holders below.

Inside, the dashboard is dual-tone. You get ABC pedals for manual transmission, plus a dead pedal. There’s a lever to open the fuel lid and another for the bonnet. Controls include buttons for idle start/stop, traction control, and headlamp adjustment.

The VXI model includes an audio system with Bluetooth, USB, and Aux connectivity, which is missing in the base model. This allows for music playback. Manual AC controls manage air flow, fan speed, and temperature. A central light switch is also present.

The steering wheel has a Suzuki logo and silver finish. It is tilt-adjustable. Manual controls for headlamps and wipers are on stalks. The instrument cluster is analog, with a speedometer marked up to 180 km/h. A small red MID screen shows trip details, average mileage, and range.

Below the central console, there’s storage space, a 12V charging outlet, and a 5-speed manual transmission. An AGS automatic option is also available. Manual handbrake is provided, but there is no armrest. The glove box offers space for documents. The manually adjustable IRVM and a front-only roof light are present. The passenger side sun visor has a vanity mirror, and the driver’s side has a ticket holder.

Engine Options and Fuel Efficiency

The Maruti Wagon R offers both petrol and CNG engine options. The VXI variant features a 1.0-liter, 999cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. Top variants (ZXI, ZXI Plus) also offer a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder option. The 1.0-liter petrol engine produces 88 bhp power and 113 Nm of torque.

For fuel efficiency, the petrol variant delivers 20-22 kmpl, depending on driving style. CNG variants are claimed to offer up to 30 kmpl, though with slightly less power. The engine bay does not have insulation.

Advanced Safety Features

Safety is a priority in the Maruti Wagon R VXI. It comes equipped with ABS with EBD, six airbags, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seat belt warning, and engine immobilizer. Other safety features include traction control and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
