Tata Tiago: A Safe and Stylish Hatchback
The Tata Tiago is an attractive hatchback car. Tata cars are known for their strong build quality. This model has a 4-star safety rating, making it a safe choice in its segment. It provides good safety for occupants.
Striking Exterior Design
From the front, the Tiago features a large Tata logo. The front chrome grill has a distinctive tri-arrow design. Top models come with projector headlamps and side indicators. Newer versions of this car also include DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and fog lamps.
Looking at the side, the car has 14-inch hyper style steel wheels that look like alloy wheels. Tata provides a warranty of 2 years or 75,000 kilometers for the car. The Tiago is considered one of the safest hatchbacks in its segment, with a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating.
The car is also available with a dual-tone option. The Midnight Plum color option is available, which gives a feeling of black.
Variants and Dimensions
The Tata Tiago CNG version is available in four variants: XC, XM, HXT, and the top model XZ Plus.
Its dimensions are:
- Length: 3765 millimeters
- Width: 1677 millimeters
- Height: 1535 millimeters
For braking, the car has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Practical Rear Profile and Boot Space
The rear profile of the Tiago is well-designed. In the top model, you get features like a rear wiper, defogger, and a rear parking camera. The back features the Tata logo in the center, Tiago badging, and a spot for the reverse parking camera. You will also find iCNG badging and halogen tail lights. A high-mount stop lamp is present at the top. The rear bumper is body-colored, but the top model does not include reverse parking sensors.
The car has a boot space of 242 liters. However, with the CNG tank installed, there is very little space remaining. The spare wheel is located underneath. The CNG tank has a liquid capacity of 55 to 60 liters and can hold 8 to 9 kg of gas, depending on the pump pressure. For more boot space with a CNG tank, the Tata Tigor sedan segment offers a better option.
Smart and Feature-Rich Interior
The car’s door panels have a dual-tone finish in black and beige. All four power window controls are located here, along with a chrome-finished door opener.
The seats are made of fabric with a tri-design pattern. Both height adjustment and seat recline options are available for the driver’s seat. Information regarding tire pressure is also provided. The car uses manual transmission pedals. There is a lever to open the bonnet and a small storage space for items like coins. Two keys are provided: one manual key and one remote central locking key.
Inside, the car features a fully digital instrument cluster. The dashboard also has a dual-tone design. The cluster displays various check lights and separate bars for CNG and petrol fuel levels. Trip A and Trip B information can be accessed.
The steering wheel has the Tata logo in the center. Controls for the infotainment system and phone calls are placed on the steering wheel. The 7-inch infotainment system is offered without any additional wrap. The steering wheel can be adjusted for tilt. Controls for wipers and headlamps are found on the stalks. Tweeters and ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror) controls are also present.
The center console includes a hazard light switch. The AC vents are black with attractive chrome surrounds. The 7-inch infotainment system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX options. It is powered by Harman and comes with a combination of four speakers and tweeters. The reverse parking camera provides good quality and clarity. Controls for fog lamps, door lock/unlock buttons, and a CNG to petrol converter switch are provided. This allows you to start the car directly on CNG, a feature not common in all cars.
The top model includes a fully automatic climate control system with a glossy black finish in its surroundings. There is a USB port and a 12V charging outlet, along with a good amount of space for a phone or other items. The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG version is only offered with a manual transmission, while the petrol version also has an automatic option.
The glovebox is cooled and offers good space, including a tablet holder. An adjustable IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is present. The sun visor on the driver’s side has a ticket holder, and there is a microphone. The passenger-side sun visor includes a vanity mirror.
Comfortable Rear Seating
The rear door panel also features a dual-tone design. It includes a power window control, a door opener, a tweeter, a speaker, and a bottle holder space. The rear seats are made of fabric with the same tri-design. Seatbelts are available. However, there are no rear AC vents in the Tiago. Sitting in the back, passengers will find good space for the segment. Grab handles are present, and there is a parcel tray for small items. The headrests are fixed. An armrest is not offered.
Powerful Engine Options
The Tata Tiago is powered by a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine. In petrol mode, it produces 86 PS of power and 113 Newton-meters of torque, offering a mileage of approximately 20 kilometers per liter.
