The Altroz is a well-regarded 5-star rated premium hatchback. This article provides a close look at its second top variant, highlighting its features and capabilities.

Price and Engine Choices

The Altroz has a starting ex-showroom price of around ₹6,60,000 for its base model. The top model can reach approximately ₹12,00,000 on-road in Lucknow. A key benefit of this hatchback is its availability with petrol, CNG, and diesel engine options, which is unique in its segment. Buyers can also choose between manual and DCA automatic transmissions.

Sharp Exterior Design

The Altroz boasts sharp and sporty looks. Its smart key allows for locking, unlocking, boot opening, and has a follow-me-home lamps button. The front features a chrome pattern grill in a black finish with the brand logo. It comes with automatic projector headlamps for low beam and halogen for high beam, along with side indicators, DRLs, and fog lamps in the bumper. The lower grill is completely blacked out.

The car offers a ground clearance of 165 millimeters and includes rain-sensing wipers. On the roof, there is a power antenna. The Altroz offers a generous 345 liters of boot space, one of the largest in its segment. It comes with a parcel tray that can be removed, a boot light, and a hook. All doors open at a wide 90-degree angle, making entry and exit easy. The dashboard features a dual-tone design and lovely blue ambient lighting. The rear doors include power window controls, a speaker, and a bottle holder. The seats are upholstered in fabric.

Inside, rear passengers benefit from AC vents and a USB port. There is ample legroom and headroom, making for a comfortable ride. Grab handles and hooks are available, along with adjustable headrests. The rear seats also have child seat mounts. An armrest with storage is provided. For those desiring more, a sunroof option is available with this premium hatchback.

Driver’s Controls and Infotainment

The driver’s door features a request sensor and a dual-tone trim. It houses controls for all four power windows and ORVM adjustments. Tweeters, a speaker, a bottle holder, and an umbrella holder are also found in the doors. The fabric driver’s seat offers height adjustment and recline options. Near the driver’s footwell, there are pedals for manual transmission, a fuel lid opener, a push engine start/stop button, fog lamp controls, lock/unlock buttons, and an idle start/stop button. Blue ambient lighting is also present near the footstep.

The instrument cluster is large, featuring an RPM meter and a speedometer marked up to 220 km/h. A multi-information display (MID) shows details like outside temperature, average mileage, range, and audio information. The steering wheel carries the brand logo and has controls for cruise control on the right and telephone/infotainment on the left. It is tilt-adjustable. Stalks control automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Comfort and Convenience

The Altroz is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX connectivity. The reverse parking camera has average quality. There’s a hazard light switch, and the car features a fully automatic climate control system.

For charging, it offers a 12V charging outlet, a Type-A USB port, and a Type-C USB port. Storage options include a space for a phone, two glass holders, and a sliding armrest with a small storage compartment. The car offers two drive modes: City and Eco. A handbrake is also present.

Safety Features

For safety, the Altroz comes with two airbags (for the driver and front passenger). Other features include a manually adjustable IRVM, a white LED roof light, a sunglass holder, and a microphone. The driver’s side sun visor has a ticket holder, while the passenger’s side has a vanity mirror. A grab handle is also available.

The glove box is deep and useful, featuring lights, a tablet holder, and glass holders.

Engine Specifications
