Let’s take a closer look at the XL Connected variant, which brings together perfect features and impressive looks.

Key Specifications & Pricing Details

The Nissan Magnite offers great value, starting from just ₹6,14,000 ex-showroom for its base model. The XL Connected variant, which we are focusing on, is priced at ₹7,97,000 ex-showroom. For those interested in the on-road price in places like Lucknow, this variant would cost approximately ₹9,20,000. Financing options are available, with an estimated EMI of around ₹10,000 per month for five years, based on a down payment of ₹4,20,000.

The Magnite is available with both petrol and CNG fuel options. Opting for the CNG variant will add an extra ₹75,000 to the ex-showroom price. This compact SUV boasts a 40-liter petrol fuel tank capacity and an impressive ground clearance of 205 mm, making it suitable for various road conditions. The boot offers a generous 336 liters of space for your luggage. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 3994 mm in length, 1758 mm in width, and 1572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2500 mm.

Striking Exterior Design

The Nissan Magnite embodies a muscular and bold presence, living up to its “Big, Bold, Beautiful” tagline. The front profile features a dominant gloss black grille with chrome accents and the prominent Nissan logo. It is equipped with halogen headlamps and indicator placements, along with eye-catching inverse L-shaped DRLs. While this variant does not include fog lamps, it gets a silver skid plate that enhances its rugged and muscular feel.

From the side, the Magnite looks equally impressive. It comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (with a 4-nut pattern and Nissan logo), front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. The tire profile is 195/60 R16 radial tires. Black cladding runs along the side, complementing the Nissan Magnite badging. The glossy black outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) integrate indicator placements. A smart key system allows for automatic unlocking when you approach the car and locking when you walk away. Other exterior details include a black A-pillar, chrome door handles (standard from the base model), and a matt black C-pillar.

The rear design is also muscular, featuring the Nissan logo and Magnite badging. While this variant has older-style backlights, newer LED options are available in higher trims. Practical features like a rear wiper, defogger, a high-mounted stop lamp, a shark-fin antenna, and roof rails are present. For parking ease, there’s a reverse parking camera located near the nameplate, a dual-tone bumper, four reverse parking sensors, reflectors, and a silver skid plate. The exhaust pipe is positioned on the right side. Note that the spare wheel is a 14-inch normal size, unlike the 16-inch alloy wheels.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

Step inside the Nissan Magnite XL Connected variant, and you’re greeted by a well-designed and comfortable cabin. The smart key includes lock/unlock buttons and Nissan branding. The door trims feature a dual-tone finish with a fabric touch, power window controls, a door opener, a bottle holder, and speakers. The seats are made of fabric (with leatherette options in higher trims) and offer both height adjustment and recline.

The black dashboard features a unique carbon-type finish pattern, adding a touch of sophistication. The steering wheel, without a wrap, sports the Nissan logo and houses controls for the Multi-Information Display (MID), telephony, and infotainment. It is tilt-adjustable, though cruise control is only available from the second-top variant. Manual controls for headlamps and wipers are also present. The fully digital instrument cluster displays speed, RPM, temperature, and fuel gauge, along with driving information, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and service reminders.

The center console is equipped with silver-trimmed AC vents. The touchscreen infotainment system activates when the car starts and offers Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX connectivity. It also displays the view from the reverse camera (360-degree camera is an option in top variants). Other controls include a hazard light switch, lock/unlock button, and defogger controls. A fully automatic climate control system ensures optimal cabin temperature. Storage options are abundant, with space for a phone, a charging outlet, a Type-C USB port, and a lit glove box. There are two cup holders near the manual handbrake, and an armrest with internal storage.

For rear passengers, there are rear AC vents and a Type-C charging port. The rear cabin offers good legroom, knee room, thigh support, and headroom for three passengers, aided by an almost flat floor. Rear features include a grab handle with a hook, a parcel tray, three adjustable headrests, and an armrest with two integrated glass holders (standard from the base variant). A halogen bulb roof light illuminates the cabin. The interior is further enhanced by a bezel-less Inside Rearview Mirror (IRVM), a vanity mirror on the passenger sun visor, a ticket holder on the driver sun visor, and a microphone.

Performance and Safety

The Nissan Magnite offers two robust petrol engine options:

  • 1.0L (999cc) 3-cylinder Non-Turbo Petrol: This engine delivers 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, with a mileage of 18-19 kmpl.
  • 1.0L 3-cylinder Turbo Petrol: For those seeking more power, this engine provides 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque, with similar mileage figures of 18-19 kmpl.

Both engines can be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and an automatic CVT option is also available.

Safety is a key highlight of the Nissan Magnite, which has received a 4-star crash test safety rating. It comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including ABS with EBD (Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), and six airbags, which are standard even from the base model. Other safety technologies include four reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seat belt warnings, an engine immobilizer, crash sensors, traction control, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).

Warranty and Customization Options

The Nissan Magnite comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km. For added peace of mind, extended warranty options are available:

  • An additional ₹10,000 extends the warranty to 4 years or 1 lakh km.
  • A comprehensive extended warranty for 10 years or 2 lakh km is available for an extra ₹49,000. Customers also have the option to choose a dual-tone roof to further personalize their vehicle.

Conclusion

The Nissan Magnite stands out as a compelling compact SUV, offering a blend of style, comfort, advanced features, and strong safety, all at a competitive price point. Its muscular design, well-appointed interior, efficient engine options, and extensive safety features make it a strong contender in its segment, proving to be a big, bold, and beautiful choice for modern drivers.
