2025 Kia Syros HTX Review: Second Top Model Features and Details

Experience the New Kia Seltos HTX+

The latest Kia Seltos has arrived, and here is a detailed look at its HTX+ variant. This SUV combines powerful looks with a host of modern features.

Smart Key and Entry

The Kia Seltos HTX+ comes with a smart key featuring Kia branding. It includes buttons for locking, unlocking, and boot access. A new feature allows you to start the car by holding down a button on the smart key.

Exterior Design

From the front, the Seltos HTX+ boasts an impressive design. It features Kia branding with a satin finish and a glossy black strip. The lower grille has a matte black finish. For parking assistance, there are four front sensors and a towing hook option. The side cladding is in a grey finish.

The headlights are cube-shaped LED automatic units. The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) also function as turn indicators. The ground clearance is approximately 205 mm. The bonnet is designed to complement the overall look, and the car is equipped with a dual wiper and washer system. A panoramic sunroof and roof rails are also present. The HTX+ variant also features cladding around the wheel arches, sides, and rear, with body-colored door handles.

Side and Rear Profile

The side profile showcases 16-inch alloy wheels. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels have drum brakes. The fuel tank capacity is between 44 and 45 liters.

At the rear, the Seltos HTX+ includes a rear wiper, defogger, a high-mount stop lamp, and an integrated spoiler. A shark fin antenna and roof rails are also visible. The rear features a camera integrated with the nameplate and central Kia branding. The L-shaped LED tail lights add to its modern look. The “Turbo GDI Petrol” engine badging is also present. Other rear features include reflectors, four reverse parking sensors, a rear camera, a rear skid plate, and a towing hook option.

The length of the Kia Seltos is 3995 millimeters.

Boot Space

The Seltos offers a spacious 465-liter boot, which is highlighted as the largest in its segment. It includes a boot light and hooks for securing items. The rear seats feature a 60:40 split function, and a parcel tray is provided. The spare wheel is a 15-inch unit, which is one size smaller than the main 16-inch wheels, and the tool kit is stored beneath it.

Interior Comfort and Features

The interior of the Seltos HTX+ offers a premium experience. It features a panoramic sunroof and six airbags for safety. The front seats are ventilated, with controls available for adjustment. The second-row seats offer high comfort, designed for reclining and sliding forward or backward. These are leather seats.

The dual-tone door trims in the rear have power window controls, a door opener, and sun blinds for protection from sunlight. Speakers and bottle holders are also integrated into the doors. For child safety, ISOFIX child seat mounts are provided. Rear passengers benefit from good legroom, knee room, and thigh support. There are rear AC vents and two Type-C USB ports, along with additional storage space. Two adjustable headrests are provided, and an armrest includes two cup holders. There are three seat belts for rear passengers. White LED roof lights and grab handles enhance the rear cabin.

Driver’s Area and Technology

The driver’s door features child lock, power window controls for all four windows, door lock/unlock buttons, and controls for the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) to adjust and fold them. The door opener has a grey finish. The front seats are ventilated, with controls to set the ventilation level. Speakers and bottle holders are also present in the front doors.

The dashboard is premium, and the leather seats are ventilated for both front occupants. The driver’s seat offers height adjustment and recline options. Below the dashboard, there’s a fuel lid opener, manual transmission pedals, a bonnet release lever, a traction control switch, and headlight level adjustment.

The steering wheel is leather-wrapped with visible stitching. The Kia logo is positioned on the right side. It includes controls for telephony, infotainment, volume adjustment, call management, cruise control, and the Multi-Information Display (MID). The steering wheel offers tilt adjustment.

The instrument cluster is fully digital, showing the speedometer, RPM meter, fuel gauge, temperature, odometer, outside temperature, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Information like current trip and TPMS details can be accessed through controls.

The center console features a large panoramic sunroof with its controls. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is prominently placed. It offers smooth touch functionality, integrated maps, and a reverse parking camera display with good quality. Connectivity options include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, AUX, Bluetooth, FM, and AM. The infotainment system also has dedicated controls for volume, mute, search, map, home, setup, and media.

A hazard light switch is centrally located. The AC vents have a black finish. The car features a fully automatic climate control system with controls for airflow, AC on/off, fan speed, and temperature adjustment. There are two Type-C USB ports and a 12V charging outlet, along with a storage area for keys or small items. The engine start/stop is managed by a push-button. A “View” button activates the camera, and front parking sensors can be turned on or off. The car comes with a six-speed manual transmission.

Two cup holders and a manual handbrake are positioned in the center. An armrest offers additional storage space. The dashboard features a dual-tone design with light and dark shades. A standard glove box is available for documents. The IRVM is manually adjustable. White LED roof lights are provided, along with a microphone and a sunglass holder. The co-driver’s sun visor includes a vanity mirror, while the driver’s sun visor has a ticket holder.

Engine Performance

The Kia Seltos is available with both petrol and diesel engine options.

The petrol variant features a 1.0-liter, 998cc, 3-cylinder Turbo GDI engine. This engine produces 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque, offering an estimated mileage of 18-19 kmpl. The turbo option is exclusive to the petrol engine.

For diesel, there is a 1.5-liter CRDi engine. It delivers 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, with an impressive mileage of 20+ kmpl. The engines are noted for their refinement, and no insulation is found under the bonnet.

Safety Features

The Seltos HTX+ is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including ABS with EBD, six airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seat belt warnings, an engine immobilizer, a crash sensor, traction control, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
