Introducing the New 2022 Compact SUV: Features and Price Revealed

The new 2022 compact SUV model brings many updates. This article will cover its price, features, and overall design. Many changes have been made to the interior, exterior, and features of this new compact SUV.

This model comes in several variants. The base model is called E, followed by S, S Optional, SX, and the top model, SX Optional. The mid-variant shown is the S Optional, which is available with a petrol engine. If you choose the diesel engine, this variant is known as S Plus. The front profile of this SUV looks broad and muscular. The car key includes buttons for lock, unlock, and boot opening, with a flip key design. A manual key is also provided.

Exterior Design and Features

The front of the car features the Hyundai logo and an impressive dark chrome front grill, which is a new addition not found in older models. Side indicators are present. Fog lamps are no longer included in any variant of this new model. The overall look has been significantly improved.

The lower grill is black, and a muscular-looking silver skid plate is seen at the front. The car also has an engine guard and good front suspension. The ground clearance for this compact SUV is 190 millimeters.

This model comes with a 3-year warranty with unlimited kilometers. There are seven color options available, including Titan Grey (as shown), White, Red, Silver, Blue, and Black.

Rear Profile and Boot Space

From the side, the car has body cladding. The rearview mirrors include indicator lights and are electrically adjustable. Silver roof rails and a shark fin antenna complete the side profile. The rear wheels have drum brakes, while the front wheels feature disc brakes.

The rear profile of the car also has changed looks. It features dark chrome elements. The backlights are connected and fully LED, extending across the rear. At the top, there is a high stop lamp. Reflectors and a reverse light are also provided. The Hyundai logo is in the center.

Below, you will find a reverse parking camera on the S Optional variant. A large, muscular-looking silver skid plate is also present at the rear. The exhaust pipe and rear suspension setup are visible.

The boot space of this compact SUV is 350 liters, which is good for luggage. A parcel tray is also included.

Comfortable and Modern Interior

The interior features a dual-tone design, offering a premium feel compared to the previous single-tone interior. The door panels are also dual-tone and include controls for all four power windows, door lock/unlock, rearview mirror adjustments, a door opener, a tweeter, a speaker, and a bottle holder.

The seats are dual-tone fabric and offer both height adjustment and recline options. The car has a manual transmission with standard pedals. You will also find a headlamp leveler and traction control.

A significant change inside is the fully digital instrument cluster, which was previously analog. This display shows information like tire pressure, driving data, and other important details. The steering wheel includes controls for the infotainment system and calls, along with the Hyundai logo. The steering is tilt-adjustable.

The touchscreen infotainment system has a dual-tone frame and a slightly changed interface. It comes with a combination of four speakers and two tweeters. The system supports Android Auto, USB, and AUX connectivity. Reverse parking camera quality is also good. Other interior features include AC vents, USB charging ports, and space to keep a mobile phone. The driver’s side sun visor includes a vanity mirror.

The rear cabin also has a dual-tone finish. Rear passengers get AC vents and USB Type A ports. There is good legroom and thigh support. The cabin light is yellow. The rear also has a parcel tray. The headrests in the rear are fixed. Sitting inside this new model feels more spacious, and it offers more features than before.

Engine Options and Performance

This compact SUV is available with three engine options: a 1.2-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter diesel, and a turbo petrol engine.

  • The 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque, offering approximately 17 kmpl mileage.
  • The 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 100 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque, with an estimated mileage of 23-24 kmpl.
  • The turbo petrol variant’s top model is priced similarly to the diesel’s top model.

Pricing and Variants

The price range for this compact SUV starts from approximately 5.53 Lakhs and goes up to 12.32 Lakhs for the top-end model.

  • The S Optional petrol variant costs around 9.50 Lakhs (on-road in Lucknow, UP).
  • The S Plus diesel variant costs approximately 9.99 Lakhs (on-road in Lucknow, UP).

Safety First

The car comes with a range of safety features including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), airbags, traction control, hill assist, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Other safety features include central locking, power door lock, child safety lock, door ajar warning, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, and an engine immobilizer. The top-end model adds more features like 6 airbags, a sunroof, and wireless charging.
