Price and Variants
The Tata Nexon starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹7.80 lakh. The top model can go up to ₹14-15 lakh on-road in Lucknow. Special editions of the Nexon are also available.
The Nexon offers various variants. The XM S variant does not include a sunroof. However, the XM Plus S variant offers a sunroof option. If you choose the XZ Plus S variant, you get additional features like a touch infotainment system, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
The Tata Nexon boasts a muscular front profile. It features a glossy black finish with the Tata logo and chrome inserts. The headlamp setup includes projector headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). Halogen bulbs are used for the high beam, and projectors for the low beam. Indicators are placed below. Fog lamps are not included and need to be installed later. The front bumper has a lower grille in a blacked-out design.
The car offers a good ground clearance of 209 mm. Rain-sensing wipers are also present, which automatically start when it rains.
From the side, the Nexon looks substantial. It has a length of 4093 mm, a width of 1811 mm, and a height of 1606 mm. The wheelbase is 2498 mm.
Wheels, Mirrors, and Brakes
The Nexon comes with 16-inch steel rims and wheel covers. It uses radial tyres. The car features body cladding. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) are auto-foldable, meaning they fold automatically when you lock or unlock the car. These ORVMs come in a matte black finish and have integrated turn indicators.
The car also includes silver roof rails and matte black door handles. It has front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
Rear Profile and Boot Space
The rear profile of the Nexon is muscular. It features LED taillights, which glow in a two-step pattern, looking quite attractive. The turn indicators and reverse light use halogen bulbs. The Tata logo is centrally placed at the rear. This variant does not come with a rear wiper. An integrated spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp is also present.
The rear bumper is entirely black. It includes ultrasonic parking sensors and a tri-arrow design. The fuel tank capacity is 44 liters, and the turning radius is 5.1 meters.
The Tata Nexon offers a spacious 350-liter boot. Inside the boot, you will find a spare wheel, which is a 16-inch radial tyre (195/60 R16). A puncture repair kit is also provided.
Engine and Performance
The Tata Nexon is available with two engine options:
- Petrol Engine: A 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. This engine offers a mileage of 17-18 kmpl.
- Diesel Engine: A 1.5-liter diesel engine that delivers 110 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. This engine provides a mileage of approximately 22 kmpl.
Both manual and automatic transmission options are available. However, the base variant does not offer an automatic transmission or a diesel engine option. The engine bay includes insulation.
Interior and Comfort
The interior features black door panels and a well-designed dashboard. The seats are made of fabric with a unique design pattern. This variant does not offer seat height adjustment.
For comfort, the Nexon provides good legroom and thigh support. Some variants feature an electric sunroof. This particular variant does not have a parcel tray, fixed headrests, or a rear armrest.
Inside the doors, you’ll find controls for all four power windows, a child lock, and ORVM controls. There are also speakers, bottle holders, an umbrella holder, and effective lights.
The car comes with a remote central locking key, along with a manual key.
Dashboard and Technology
The Nexon features a fully digital instrument cluster, available from the basic models. The steering wheel has the Tata logo and controls for infotainment and telephone functions on the left side. Cruise control is not available in this variant but is offered in higher variants. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable.
The digital cluster displays information like temperature, fuel level, trip A/B, odometer, and average fuel consumption.
The infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, offering full connectivity. This variant does not have a reverse parking camera, but it provides sensor indications. Manual AC controls are present, along with a 12V charging outlet and a USB port.
The Nexon offers three drive modes: City, Eco, and Sport. There are two cup holders and additional storage space at the rear. A manual handbrake is included.
The top model of the Nexon adds features like wireless charging and ventilated seats. The glove box is spacious and includes glass holders. The cabin light is a white LED. Controls for the electric sunroof are easily accessible. The sun visor on the passenger side includes a vanity mirror, while the driver’s side has a ticket holder. Grab handles are also provided.
