The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is a well-known mid-size SUV. This article explores the detailed features of its base model. The S-Cross is available in four variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.

Engine and Performance

The S-Cross comes with a 1.5-liter, 1462cc Smart Hybrid petrol engine. This engine produces 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. While the base model does not offer an automatic transmission, the top three variants do. The car has a 48-liter fuel tank capacity.

Exterior Design Overview

Front Design The S-Cross features a muscular hood. The front has a large Suzuki logo with a chrome grille, giving it a bold look. Projector headlights are offered even in the base model. Indicators are placed on the fenders. The lower grille is black, complemented by a silver skid plate. The ground clearance is 180mm.

Side Profile The S-Cross stands on 16-inch steel wheels. The base model does not include wheel covers. The tires are sized 215/60 R16. The door handles are body-colored. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) are electrically adjustable in the base model.

Rear Design At the rear, the S-Cross features taillights and a high-mount stop lamp. An antenna is also present. The base model does not have a rear wiper.

Comfortable and Feature-Rich Interior

Front Cabin The interior has a dual-tone finish. Key features in the base model include central locking and power windows. The instrument cluster shows important information like average mileage, trip distance, and range. The steering wheel features a large Suzuki logo and silver accents. It offers tilt adjustment. Wiper and headlight controls are present on the stalks. AC vents have a silver finish. The car comes with manual AC controls and a 12V charging socket. The glove box is deep but not illuminated. The passenger side has a grab handle and a vanity mirror. Reading lamps are provided. The driver’s sun visor does not have a mirror. The internal rearview mirror (IRVM) is manually adjustable.

Seating and Storage The S-Cross base model features fabric seats with a recline function. The driver’s seat is not height-adjustable. There are two cup holders in the front. The boot space is generous and includes storage compartments on both sides. A tool kit and a steel spare wheel are located under the boot floor.

Rear Cabin The rear doors also have power window controls and bottle holders. A roof-mounted cabin light is available. Rear passengers benefit from good legroom and thigh support. Adjustable headrests are provided for the rear seats. Grab handles are also present.

Safety First

The base model of the S-Cross is equipped with two airbags for safety. It also includes an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and seat belt warning. Adjustable seatbelts are also present.
