The Smart base model of the Tata Punch facelift has an ex-showroom price of ₹5,69,000. On the road, this car will cost around ₹6,37,000. If you choose a CNG variant, you will need to add approximately ₹1,25,000 more to the petrol model price.
Standard Features in the Base Model
Even the basic Smart model comes with several standard features. These include LED headlamps, remote central locking, front power window controls, and six airbags. The new Tata Punch also offers an automatic transmission option for its CNG variants, which was not available before.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
The Tata Punch facelift boasts a muscular and strong SUV look.
Front Profile: The front features a large Tata logo and a glossy black front grille, which has been completely redesigned compared to the previous model. Parking lights and indicators are integrated into the side. The Smart base model does not include DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). It comes with a full LED headlamp setup, similar to what is seen in the Nexon. A skid plate is also provided. The lower grille is entirely black. Housing for a 360-degree camera is present, indicating this feature will be available in higher models.
Ground Clearance: The ground clearance has increased from 187 mm to 193 mm, which is 5 mm more than before.
Side Profile: The side profile features manually foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with integrated indicators. The door handles and ORVMs are in a matte black finish. The A-pillar and B-pillar are also black. This model rides on 15-inch steel rims with 185/70 R15 tires. Front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels have drum brakes. The car includes black body cladding along the side.
Rear Profile: The rear of the Tata Punch facelift features new connected LED tail lights. In the Smart base model, only a part of these lights will illuminate. The indicators are also integrated into these lights. The reverse light is located in the lower bumper. A large Tata logo and “Punch” badging are prominently displayed. The base model does not come with a rear wiper or defogger. A high-mounted stop lamp is present. The rear bumper includes two ultrasonic parking sensors and reflectors. Dashboard and Steering: The dashboard has a new texture. While there is no audio system in the base model, it features a new D-cut steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The steering wheel offers tilt adjustment. The instrument cluster is fully digital, displaying speed, RPM, range, mileage, and temperature. Controls for headlamps and wipers are manual.
Seating and Space: The seats are fabric-covered and offer a recline option. Rear passengers do not get AC vents in this base model. The legroom, thigh support, and headroom are comfortable. Storage: The boot space remains 366 liters, similar to the previous model. The rear seats can be fully folded (100%) to expand storage. Hooks are available in the boot to hang items up to 1 kg. Petrol Engine (Base Model): The Smart base model is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder non-turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 87 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Turbo Petrol Engine (Top Model): A new 1.2-liter Revotron turbo-charged petrol engine, similar to the Nexon, is available in the top model. It delivers 118 bhp of power and 117 Nm of torque.
CNG Variant: The CNG variant produces 72 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque. As mentioned, an automatic transmission option is now available for CNG variants.
