Discover the New Tata Punch Facelift: A Feature-Packed Micro SUV

The new Tata Punch Facelift is here, showcasing significant upgrades in features, looks, and overall design. This muscular micro SUV now comes with enhanced styling and a 5-star safety rating, making it a compelling option in its segment.

Pricing and Variants

The new Tata Punch starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹5,69,000, with the top model reaching up to ₹10,00,000.

The Pure Plus petrol variant, a value-for-money option, is priced at ₹6,99,900 (ex-showroom). Its on-road price is approximately ₹8,04,000, which includes a ₹20,000 discount.

For those interested in the CNG variant, it will have an on-road price of around ₹8,98,000. Finance and EMI options are also available.

The Punch Facelift introduces new variant names: Smart (base), followed by Pure, Adventure, and the top-tier Accomplish.

Upgraded Exterior Design

The exterior of the new Tata Punch has been fully upgraded, giving it a more muscular and modern appearance.

Front Fascia: The front grille is completely changed and upgraded, featuring a glossy black finish with the Tata logo at the center. Parking lights are integrated into the grille. LED headlamps are standard from the base model, though fog lamps are exclusive to the top model. The lower grille is black, and the grey-finished skid plate is now available from the base model.

Ground Clearance: The ground clearance has increased to 193mm, up from the previous 187mm, offering better capability. The car features dual wipers and washers on the front. While the roof is plain, dual-tone roof options are available in higher variants.

Side Profile: The side profile looks perfect and embodies a “value for money” feel. It comes with wheel covers, an 8-inch touchscreen, and six airbags (available from basic models). It maintains a strong 5-star safety rating.

The Punch Facelift features 15-inch wheels with a tire profile of 185/65 R15. Front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels have drum brakes. The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) are glossy black and electrically adjustable. Turn indicators are placed on the ORVMs. A 360-degree camera is available in the top model. Both A-pillar and B-pillar are black, and the door handles are body-colored. The doors open 90 degrees, ensuring easy entry and exit.

Rear Profile: The rear features new connected taillights. The high-mount stop lamp is slim and located at the center, above the Tata logo. The “PUNCH” badging is also present. This variant includes a reverse camera and a defogger. A shark-fin antenna is in black. The connected taillights are partially illuminated in lower variants; full illumination is available in the top and second-top models. Two ultrasonic parking sensors and two reflectors are integrated into the rear bumper. The reverse light is located at the bottom. The exhaust pipe is on the right side.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The length of the car has increased by 49mm, now measuring 3876mm, due to the new connected taillights. The width remains 1742mm, and the height is 1615mm. The wheelbase is 2445mm.

Boot Space: The petrol variant offers a substantial 366 liters of boot space. The rear seats are 100% foldable. While a parcel tray is not included in this variant, it can be added as an accessory. A 1kg hook and a yellow boot light are provided. The spare wheel is a 15-inch steel wheel of the same size as the main wheels, equipped with a jack and tool kit. In CNG variants, the boot space is approximately 200 liters due to the twin CNG cylinders.

Interior Comfort and Technology

The interior of the new Punch Facelift features a dual-tone door trim in black and grey. Power window controls are on the doors, along with a door opener, speaker, bottle holder, and umbrella holder.

Seating: The fabric seats come in a new grey color combination with improved cushioning. Height adjustment and recline options are available for the driver’s seat.

Dashboard and Infotainment: The dashboard has a fresh look. This variant includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (earlier variants had a 7-inch screen). It supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and Aux connectivity. The reverse parking camera offers good quality and zoom functionality. Six airbags are standard from the base model.

Driver’s Cockpit: The fully digital cluster displays RPM, speed, mileage, range, outside temperature, and fuel level. The new steering wheel features an illuminated Tata logo. Cruise control is available from the Pure Plus variant. It also has telephone and infotainment controls. The steering is tilt-adjustable. Manual headlamp and wiper controls are provided.

Convenience: The hazard light switch is located in the center. The AC vents are black. A manual AC system controls the flow, fan speed, and temperature. The car features two Type-C USB ports and a 12V charging outlet, along with storage space. It comes with a five-speed manual transmission. An automatic option is now available for CNG variants. It has two glass holders, a manual handbrake, and an armrest with storage. The glove box has a tablet holder. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is manually adjustable. A white LED roof light is provided. The co-driver’s sun visor has a vanity mirror, while the driver’s sun visor has a ticket holder.

Rear passengers get decent legroom, kneeroom, and thigh support. Rear AC vents and a Type-C USB port are also present. The headrests are fixed, and three-point seatbelts are provided for all passengers. ISOFIX child seat mounts are also included. The floor is flat for added comfort.

Engine Performance and Mileage

The Tata Punch Facelift offers both petrol and CNG engine options. An EV variant is also expected soon.

1.2L Revotron Petrol (Non-Turbo): This 1.2-liter, three-cylinder non-turbo Revotron petrol engine is standard in lower variants. It produces 85 BHP of power and 115 Nm of torque. It offers a mileage of 18-19 kmpl (depending on driving style).

1.2L Turbo Petrol (Nexon Engine): The top model features a new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, similar to the one found in the Nexon. This engine delivers 118 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque. It is also expected to offer around 18 kmpl.

CNG Variant: The CNG variants offer slightly lower power figures, around 72-75 PS and 103 Nm of torque. However, they deliver an impressive mileage of 26-28 kmpl.

The engine bay has proper insulation.
