Exploring the Hyundai Venue S+ Diesel Variant: Features and Specifications

The Hyundai Venue S+ Diesel variant is a popular compact SUV known for its blend of style and practicality. This guide offers a close look at its features, from the exterior design to interior comfort, performance, and safety, specifically for the S+ Diesel model.

Introducing the Hyundai Venue S+ Diesel Variant

The Hyundai Venue S+ Diesel model, often seen in white, stands as a strong option in the compact SUV segment. It comes with a flip remote central locking key, which includes buttons for lock, unlock, and boot access.

The Venue range offers five main variants:

  • E: The base model
  • S
  • S+ (or S Optional)
  • SX
  • SX Optional: The top-tier model

Exterior Design and Features of the Venue S+

The S+ variant presents a robust and modern exterior.

  • Front View: It features a dark chrome front grille with the Hyundai logo in the center. Indicators are clearly placed. The headlights are halogen-based; this S+ model does not include projector lamps or DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). The lower grille is black, complemented by a grey finish skid plate. The car offers a ground clearance of 195 millimeters.
  • Top and Side Profile: You will find dual wipers and washers, a plain roof, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna. The car has a large appearance from the side. Steel wheels come with wheel covers; alloy wheels are available in higher SX variants (16-inch, compared to 15-inch radial tires on this variant). The front has disc brakes, while the rear uses drum brakes. The side profile also includes black body cladding, body-colored door handles, and ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with integrated indicators. Power-folding ORVMs are found in higher variants. The vehicle comes with a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty, which can be extended for an extra charge.
  • Rear Design: The Venue S+ has a broad rear look with connected backlights. These are regular halogen bulbs, not LEDs, which are offered in higher models. The Hyundai logo is in the center. Rear parking sensors and a reverse parking camera (located near the nameplate) are present. Like the front, the rear also has a grey finish skid plate. The rear suspension setup and exhaust pipe are visible.

Hyundai Venue S+ Interior: Comfort and Technology

The interior of the Venue S+ Diesel variant is designed for comfort and connectivity.

  • Second Row (Rear Seats): The rear doors feature a dual-tone trim with power window controls, door openers, speakers, and bottle holders. The seats are upholstered in fabric. Rear passengers get AC vents and a Type-C USB port. With a wheelbase of 2500 millimeters, there is good legroom, allowing three people to sit comfortably. Amenities include grip handles, a hook, and a yellow roof light. There are three adjustable headrests and three-point seat belts. The rear seats offer a 60:40 split and recline option, along with child seat mounts.
  • First Row (Driver and Co-driver): The driver’s side door trim is dual-tone and includes controls for all four power windows, central lock/unlock, and ORVM adjustments. Fabric seats offer both height adjustment and recline options. The driver’s area includes a fuel lid opener, manual transmission pedals, a dead pedal, a bonnet opening lever, and buttons for traction control, idle start-stop, and headlight adjustment.
  • Dashboard and Controls: Upon ignition, a fully digital instrument cluster lights up, showing various alerts. The steering wheel is multi-functional and tilt-adjustable, featuring controls for the audio system and calls. It includes automatic headlamps and manual wiper controls. The digital cluster displays speed, RPM, temperature, and fuel levels. The Multi-Information Display (MID) provides details like drive assist, cluster light settings, door status, AdBlue level, auto stop information, trip average, mileage, and range.
  • Infotainment and Climate: The S+ variant comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A reverse camera is included, offering average quality, but a 360-degree camera is not available even in the top model (ADAS features are). The AC vents are black with grey surrounds. Manual AC controls allow adjustment of fan speed, temperature, and air flow. Below this, there’s a 12V charging outlet, Type-C, and Type-A USB ports, along with space for a mobile phone.
  • Console and Storage: The car features a six-speed manual transmission, two glass holders, and a manual handbrake. An armrest with storage space is also provided. The S+ comes with six standard airbags placed in the dashboard, seats, and pillars. The glove box is a normal type, not cooled. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is manually adjustable, and there’s a microphone for calls. Sun visors are plain, without vanity mirrors. A sunroof option is now offered in the S Option Plus variant, making it available from lower variants than before.
