Explore the Honda Amaze S: A Compact Sedan Guide

The Honda Amaze S is a popular compact sedan known for being a great option in its segment. This article provides a detailed look at the S mid-variant, covering its features, specifications, and what makes it a strong contender in the market.

Car Variants and Pricing

The Honda Amaze comes in three main variants: the E (base model), the S (mid-range), and the VX (top model). While the top VX variant offers additional features like alloy wheels, projector LED headlights, advanced infotainment, and a reverse parking camera, the S variant includes all the essential features you need.

In terms of pricing, the Honda Amaze starts around 7.5 lakh rupees on road in Lucknow. The top-tier model can go up to approximately 10 lakh rupees. This car is available only with a petrol engine, offering both manual and CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) options.

Exterior Design and Features

The Honda Amaze S presents a refined exterior. The front features the Honda logo framed by a wide chrome strip. It comes with standard halogen headlights, and turn indicators are placed on the side. While fog lamps are not standard on this variant, they can be added as an accessory. The lower grille is completely black, and some chrome accents are visible around the front. The car offers a ground clearance of 170 millimeters.

From the side, the Amaze S is equipped with 14-inch steel wheels that include wheel covers. (The top model, in comparison, features 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.) It has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The tire profile is 175/65 R14. The outside mirrors are body-colored and electrically adjustable, with integrated turn indicators. Door handles are black (body-colored in the top variant), and the car includes a remote locking key system.

The rear profile includes the Honda logo and LED tail lights. This S variant does not offer a reverse parking camera, though it does feature two reverse parking sensors in the body-colored bumper. Reflectors are present on both sides, along with a chrome strip on the rear bumper. The “i-VTEC” badge signifies its petrol engine.

Spacious Boot Area

The Honda Amaze S provides a generous 420 liters of boot space. To open the boot, you can use the car key or a lever located near the driver’s seat. A boot light is also present for convenience. As the car is only available with a petrol engine, there is no space for a CNG tank. The spare wheel is a 14-inch steel wheel, matching the size of the main wheels.

Interior Comfort and Design

The interior of the Honda Amaze S features a dual-tone theme. Both front and rear door trims have silver-finished door handles, power window controls, bottle holders, and speakers.

Rear Cabin: The rear seats have fixed headrests. While there are no rear AC vents, a 12V charging outlet is provided. The seating offers good legroom and knee room for a sedan. A foldable armrest with two cup holders enhances comfort. The cabin is illuminated by a yellow roof light.

Front Cabin: The front seats are fabric and offer both height adjustment and recline options. The driver’s side includes a boot opener lever. The remote key features lock and unlock buttons, along with a physical key. The dashboard continues the dual-tone design, which contributes to a premium feel. The steering wheel, adorned with the Honda logo, has a silver finish. This variant includes controls for headlights and wipers, but no steering-mounted audio controls (cruise control is available in the top model). The button-operated audio system supports Bluetooth, USB, and AUX connectivity. A 12V charging port and a USB port are also present.

For safety, all variants of the Honda Amaze come standard with two airbags. Other interior features include a manual adjustable rearview mirror and sun visors with a ticket holder on the driver’s side and a vanity mirror on the passenger’s side.

Engine and Performance

The Honda Amaze S is powered by a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine. This engine delivers 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. It is known for offering good mileage and is available with both manual and CVT transmission options.

Safety Features

Safety is a strong point for the Honda Amaze, which holds a 4-star safety rating. All variants, including the S, come with two airbags as standard. Additional safety features include reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, and seat belt reminders.

Car Dimensions

The Honda Amaze S has a length of 3995 millimeters, a width of 1695 millimeters, and a height of 1501 millimeters. Its wheelbase measures 2470 millimeters.

Color Options and Warranty

The Honda Amaze S is available in several attractive colors, including Grey, Silver, Brown, Red, and White. It comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or unlimited kilometers, which can be extended to 5 years for an additional charge.

Market Competition

The Honda Amaze directly competes with other compact sedans like the Tata Tigor and Maruti Dzire. Its key advantages are its reliable i-VTEC engine and its excellent 4-star safety rating.
