The New Mahindra Bolero Facelift: What’s New and What’s the Price?

The Mahindra Bolero has a new facelift. This update brings some exciting changes, especially to its features and pricing. We will explore the B6 variant and see how it compares to older models.

Price Drop Thanks to New GST

A big change for the new Bolero is its price. Due to new GST rules, the price has come down significantly.

The base model now starts at just ₹8 Lakhs. The B6 variant, which is the focus here, costs ₹8,95,000. Before, the B6 variant cost around ₹9,99,900. This means a direct benefit of ₹14,000 from GST changes. On the road, you could save ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,25,000 depending on the variant you choose.

• B8 (This is the new top variant) The new B8 top model includes features like fog lamps and leather seats.

Exterior Design and Features

The Bolero facelift brings some noticeable updates to its looks.

Front Profile Updates

The front of the Bolero gets a fresh look with a new grille and the Mahindra logo at the center. The headlamps remain halogen-based, with indicators built in. Higher variants will get DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). There is a housing for fog lamps, which can be added later. The top B8 variant now includes fog lamps from the factory. The front bumper is made of metal, and there’s an option for a towing hook.

Strong Ground Clearance

The Bolero offers a good ground clearance of 180mm. While this number might seem low, it helps the car perform very well on rough roads and during off-roading. It’s built to be a tough 7-seater SUV.

Side View and Wheels

On the side, you will find dual wipers and washers. The roof is plain, unlike the Bolero Neo which offers a dual-tone roof. The wheels are 15-inch steel wheels with grey covers and the Mahindra logo. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels have drum brakes. The tires are 215/75 R15 radial tires, some from Bridgestone. The side cladding is body-colored, and the turn indicators are placed on the fender. The side mirrors are body-colored but are manually foldable and adjustable. The rear of the Bolero sees no major changes. It keeps the spare wheel, Mahindra logo, and Bolero badging. There’s a high-mount stop lamp. Higher variants might offer a rear wiper and defogger. The taillights are the same as before, with integrated turn indicators and reverse lights. You will find two reverse parking sensors, a footstep, and a tow hook option. The Bolero features a leaf spring suspension system at the rear, designed for its tough nature, unlike the Bolero Neo which has a different suspension setup.

Interior Comfort and Technology

The inside of the Bolero facelift brings some new features for comfort and convenience.

Seating and Boot Space

The Bolero is a 7-seater SUV. The last row has side-facing seats that can fit two people. These seats are easy to access with a footstep. If you need more storage, these rear seats can be folded to provide up to 384 liters of boot space. The middle row can comfortably seat three people. The seats in the Bolero are wider than those in the Bolero Neo. Two adjustable headrests are provided for the middle row.

Second Row Features

The rear door trims are made of hard plastic and include power window controls. The seats are upholstered in fabric. While the front gets a touchscreen, there are no AC vents for the second row. However, there is good legroom and knee room for passengers, along with an armrest.

Driver’s Cabin and Dashboard

The front doors also feature hard plastic trim and a new bottle holder. The Bolero is only available with a manual transmission and a diesel engine. Key features in the driver’s area include:

• Keys: A flip dummy key and a flip remote central locking key.
• Controls: Lever for opening the fuel cap, headlamp adjuster button, and an idle start/stop button.

The Mahindra Bolero Facelift runs solely on a diesel engine.

Diesel Engine Power

It is powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This engine produces 75 BHP (Brake Horsepower) of power and 210 Nm (Newton-meters) of torque. The engine bay also features proper insulation. For comparison, the Bolero Neo, with the same 1.5-liter engine, offers slightly more power: 100 BHP and 260 Nm of torque.

Fuel Efficiency

The mileage of the Bolero depends on your driving style. However, you can expect it to deliver around 15 to 17 kilometers per liter (kmpl).
