Price and Key Features
The Hyundai Venue range starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹7,90,000. However, the HX5 petrol variant, which we are focusing on, is priced at ₹9,15,000 ex-showroom.
This variant comes with two new smart keys. These keys feature buttons for locking and unlocking the car, along with a dedicated button to open the boot.
You can choose from different engine options: petrol, diesel, and a 1-liter turbo petrol engine.
Modern Exterior Design
The Hyundai Venue boasts a fresh, updated look. The front features a new grille and a chrome insert. Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are placed on the sides, though the connected DRLs are reserved for higher variants. Below, you’ll find halogen projector headlamps, which are manually adjustable. The lower grille is black, complemented by a large grey finish skid plate that adds to its bold appearance. The front design is fully updated.
Moving to the side, the car has a ground clearance of 195 mm. It features dual wipers and washers on the windshield. The HX5 variant includes a sunroof on the roof. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) are electric, allowing you to fold and unfold them from inside the car. They also integrate the turn indicators. The A-pillar and B-pillar are finished in black.
The HX5 comes with 15-inch steel rims fitted with 195/65 R15 radial tires and grey wheel caps. Braking is handled by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Black cladding runs along the sides. The door handles match the body color. For fueling, there is a simple lever inside the car to open the fuel filler cap. The fuel tank capacity is 45 liters for the petrol version.
Enhanced Rear Profile and Boot Space
The rear of the Hyundai Venue has a new, fresh design. The Hyundai logo is in the center, with “Venue” badging housed within a glass panel. The connected taillights are present, though only a part of them illuminates in this variant. Higher variants feature fully illuminated connected taillights. Other rear features include a defogger, a high mount stop lamp, and a shark fin antenna (roof rails are not included in this variant).
At the lower rear, you will find turn indicators, reflectors, four reverse parking sensors, and a reverse parking camera. A wide grey skid plate gives it a strong look. The exhaust pipe is visible on one side, and the rear suspension setup is robust.
The boot space in the new Venue has grown by 30 liters, now offering a spacious 375 liters (up from 345 liters). The HX5 variant does not include a parcel tray, which is available in the HX6 variant. The rear seats can be folded down as a single unit to create more cargo room. The spare tire is a 15-inch steel rim, the same size as the main tires. A jack, tool kit, and a hook are also provided inside the boot.
Updated Dimensions for More Space
The new Hyundai Venue has seen an increase in its dimensions, offering a more spacious feel. The length remains 3995 mm. However, the width has increased by 30 mm, now standing at 1800 mm. The height has also gone up by 48 mm to 1665 mm. The wheelbase has been extended by 20 mm, now measuring 2520 mm. These changes contribute to better interior space and comfort.
Comfortable and Tech-Rich Interior
Stepping inside the HX5, the door trim features a single-tone finish with a grey door opener. Power window controls, a speaker, and a bottle holder are found on the doors.
The dashboard is completely new, upgraded, and looks very premium. The steering wheel is also new and offers tilt adjustment. The car is equipped with six airbags, even from the base model, enhancing safety.
The HX5 features a large 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment. While it has a manual AC, higher variants offer automatic climate control. The instrument cluster is fully digital. The AC vents have a fresh, attractive design. “Venue” badging is prominently displayed, and there’s an option to manually switch the co-driver’s airbag on or off.
For convenience, there’s space to keep your phone, along with two Type-C USB ports and a 12V charging outlet. The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission (for petrol models) and a manual handbrake. Two cup holders are provided, but an armrest is missing in this variant (available in HX6). The glove box is standard, suitable for documents and small items. The Inside Rearview Mirror (IRVM) is manually adjustable, and there’s a microphone. The roof light is yellow.
On the driver’s side, you won’t find a ticket holder, and on the passenger side, there’s no vanity mirror. The HX5 variant includes an electric sunroof. The seats are upholstered in fabric, with height adjustment and recline options for comfort. The footwell includes ABC pedals and a dead pedal.
Rear Cabin Comfort
In the rear, passengers benefit from rear AC vents and two Type-C USB ports. Thanks to the increased wheelbase, legroom, thigh support, and headroom are improved, offering a more comfortable experience. The floor has a slight rise. There are three seat belts for three rear passengers and fixed headrests. An armrest is not available in the rear. ISOFIX child seat mounts are also present for child safety seats.
Digital Cluster and Infotainment System
The fully digital instrument cluster displays the speedometer, RPM meter, range, and various driving information. You can use the MID controls to view information such as drive assist, cluster light, door status, convenience settings, and unit preferences. It also features a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), showing the pressure in each tire.
The 10.25-inch touchscreen supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and Aux connectivity. When you engage reverse gear, the reverse parking camera activates, displaying a clear view with parking sensor information. There’s also a dedicated “view” button for a quick camera feed. All manual AC controls are easily accessible below the touchscreen.
Engine Specifications and Mileage
The Hyundai Venue offers robust engine choices.
- 1.2-liter Kappa Petrol (4-cylinder): This engine produces 82 BHP of power and 113-114 Nm of torque. It delivers an impressive mileage of 18-19 kmpl.
- 1.5-liter CRDi Diesel: This option provides 114 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. It offers excellent fuel efficiency, with a mileage of 20-21 kmpl.
- A 1-liter Turbo Petrol engine is also available.
Please note, there is no insulation under the hood for this variant.
