Discover the Nissan Magnite Core Edition: A Blacked-Out SUV Experience

The Nissan Magnite is a popular SUV known for its value and features. Now, explore the special Nissan Magnite Core Edition, designed for those who prefer a bold, all-black look. This muscular SUV offers a unique feel, setting it apart from the regular Magnite models.

Pricing and Engine Options

The Core Edition comes at an additional cost of just ₹33,000 over the standard Magnite, giving you a complete black aesthetic. The base model of the regular Magnite starts from ₹6,04,000 (Ex-showroom). The Core Edition, however, is priced at ₹8,30,000 (Ex-showroom).

You can choose between petrol and CNG engine options. For transmission, both manual and automatic (AMT/CVT) choices are available.

Striking Exterior Design

The Nissan Magnite Core Edition boasts a commanding presence with its all-black theme.

Front Profile

The front features a fully black grille with the Nissan logo. It includes projector LED headlamps, which also house the indicators. You’ll find L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), but no fog lamps. Unlike the regular version, the Core Edition skips the silver skid plate, offering a consistent black treatment throughout. The car provides a generous ground clearance of 205 mm. For convenience, it comes with manual dual wipers and washer, though higher variants may offer automatic options.

Side Profile

The side profile highlights the Core Edition badge and black cladding. It rides on stylish 16-inch black alloy wheels. Braking is handled by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The tires have a profile of 195/60 R16. The electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) include integrated indicators. The B-pillar has a matte black finish, while the A-pillar and roof rails are in glossy black. A shark fin antenna adds to its modern look. The door handles are also black, a departure from the chrome handles found on standard models. Request sensors are present on both sides for keyless entry.

Rear Profile

The rear of the Core Edition features a rear wiper, defogger, high mount stop lamp, shark fin antenna, and roof rails. Please note that no variant of this car offers a sunroof. The signature tail lamps include indicators and reverse lights. You’ll see the Nissan logo and Magnite badging, along with a reverse parking camera near the nameplate. Four reverse parking sensors are also present. Following the black theme, the silver skid plate seen in regular models has been removed.

Spacious and Blacked-Out Interior

Step inside the Nissan Magnite Core Edition to experience a completely black interior, from the dashboard to the roof. This black theme is a hallmark of the Core Edition.

The door trims are single-tone with a fabric touch, power window controls, door opener, speakers, and bottle holders. The seats are fabric as standard, with leather options available in top models. The cabin offers good legroom, kneeroom, and headroom, making it comfortable for passengers. The rear floor has a slight hump. Both rear headrests are adjustable, and three-point seatbelts are provided. A rear armrest and seat pockets add to the convenience.

The Core Edition comes with practical features like a yellow cabin light and 6 airbags as standard, even from the base model. The dashboard features a fully digital instrument cluster displaying RPM, speedometer, temperature, fuel gauge, trip information, range, mileage, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and service interval reminders. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable, but this variant does not include cruise control. Manual controls for headlamps and wipers are present.

The 8-9 inch touchscreen infotainment system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and Aux connectivity, along with radio, media, call functions, and vehicle settings. It comes with automatic climate control and a wireless charging pad, which is an extra feature contributing to the Core Edition’s value. Other features include a push-button start/stop, a 12V charging outlet, and a Type-A USB port. It has a five-speed manual transmission, with a CVT option also available. Two glass holders, a handbrake, and an armrest with storage are conveniently placed. The glove box offers ample space with a light for documents. The interior also features a bezel-less IRVM, a vanity mirror, a ticket holder, and a microphone.

A smart key feature allows the car to auto-lock when you walk away and auto-unlock when you approach with the key.

Boot Space and CNG Option

The Nissan Magnite provides a substantial 336 liters of boot space. It includes a parcel tray, boot light, and hooks. The rear seats offer a 60-40 split for flexible cargo arrangements. The spare tire is a 14-inch steel wheel, two sizes smaller than the main wheels, and is stored along with the jack and tool kit. For those interested, a CNG option is available for an additional ₹75,000, which is an authorized retrofit that does not affect the warranty.

Engine Specifications and Performance

The Nissan Magnite Core Edition offers two petrol engine options:

  • 1.0-liter Three-Cylinder Non-Turbo Petrol Engine: This engine produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, delivering a mileage of 18-19 kmpl.
  • 1.0-liter Three-Cylinder Turbo Petrol Engine: For more power, the turbo variant offers 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque, with a similar mileage of 18-19 kmpl.

The fuel tank capacity is 40 liters and only supports petrol.

Warranty and Safety

The standard warranty for the Nissan Magnite is 3 years or 1 lakh km. This can be extended to 4 years or 1 lakh km for an extra ₹10,000, or to an impressive 10 years or 2 lakh km for an additional ₹49,000.

In terms of safety, the Nissan Magnite is a 4-star rated SUV. It comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera, speed alert system, seat belt warning, engine immobilizer, crash sensor, traction control, ESP, and TPMS.

Considering its price point and extensive features, the Nissan Magnite Core Edition stands out as a compelling choice for an SUV.
