Discover the Updated Tata Nexon Pure+ S: Features, Performance & Price

The all-new updated Tata Nexon Pure+ S is here, bringing significant enhancements to one of India’s most popular compact SUVs. Formerly known as the Pure variant, the “S” in Pure+ S signifies the exciting addition of a sunroof, among other impressive upgrades. If you are looking for a spacious Nexon variant within a modest budget, the Pure+ S is an excellent choice, offering a diverse range of fuel options including petrol, CNG, diesel, and electric (EV), a unique offering in its segment.

Design and Exterior Features

The Tata Nexon Pure+ S boasts a strong and muscular appearance, currently available in an attractive gray color. At the front, it features a prominent Tata logo at the center, set against a glossy black front grille. The car comes with an automatic LED headlamps setup, though fog lamps are not included in this variant. Dual-functional Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and indicators are placed on the upper section. The lower grille is finished in a matte black. The vehicle’s front engine and suspension setup contribute to its robust stance, offering a substantial 208 mm ground clearance. This SUV also proudly carries a 5-star safety rating.

On the side, the Nexon Pure+ S is equipped with 16-inch steel rims, adorned with smart wheel covers. Braking performance is handled by front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The tires are 195/60 R16 radials, complemented by black body cladding for a rugged look. Turn indicators are integrated into the outer rearview mirrors (ORVMs), which are now auto-foldable – a new and convenient feature. The A-pillar and B-pillar are finished in matte black, while silver-finished roof rails add to its aesthetic appeal. A shark fin antenna is positioned at the rear. The door handles are body-colored, and the fuel tank capacity for petrol models is 44 liters.

The rear profile of the Nexon Pure+ S features connected tail lights, although only a portion of these lights illuminates, unlike higher variants. The indicators are integrated within these backlights. The Tata logo sits centrally at the rear, with a reverse parking camera located just below it. “Nexon” branding is also visible. The dual-tone rear bumper includes two ultrasonic parking sensors, reflectors, and a reverse light. It’s worth noting that this variant does not include a rear wiper or defogger.

Interior Comfort and Technology

Step inside the Tata Nexon Pure+ S, and you’re greeted by a dual-tone dashboard. The major upgrade here is a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a significant improvement over the previous 7-inch unit. This system offers connectivity with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and Bluetooth. The reverse parking camera provides a clear display for easy maneuvering.

The steering wheel is a two-spoke design, featuring the Tata logo and controls for telephony, infotainment, and the multi-information display (MID). It is also tilt-adjustable for driver comfort. Thanks to the inclusion of a sunroof, this variant also comes with automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. The instrument cluster includes an RPM meter, speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature bars, and various information on the MID screen, such as range.

The Pure+ S variant features manual AC controls. Below the AC, there are buttons for the hazard light and boot unlock. For charging, a 12V power outlet and a USB port are provided. The car comes with a six-speed manual transmission and offers three drive modes: City, Eco, and Sport, allowing drivers to customize their experience. A manual handbrake is present, along with a slidable armrest that also offers storage space. The glove box provides deep storage for glasses and documents. Other interior features include a manually adjustable IRVM, white LED roof light, a microphone, and an airbag on/off indicator for the co-driver. The co-driver’s side also has a vanity mirror, while the driver’s side includes a ticket holder.

Rear passengers benefit from AC vents, though there are no charging outlets or USB ports in the rear. The seats are fabric-upholstered and include ISOFIX child seat mounts. Both front and rear headrests are adjustable, and three-point seatbelts are provided for all passengers. The car ensures safety with six airbags from the base model, with branding visible on the dashboard, front seats, and as curtain airbags. Child locks are also present on the rear doors. The driver’s seat offers height adjustment and recline options from the Pure+ S variant onwards.

Boot Space and Dimensions

The Tata Nexon Pure+ S offers a substantial 382 liters of boot space. The boot can be opened either from an inside lever or by long-pressing the “follow me headlamp” button on the key. While a parcel tray is not included, the boot has two hooks, each capable of holding 3 kg. A 16-inch steel rim spare wheel, along with a jack and toolkit, is stored beneath the boot floor. The rear seats can be 100% folded down to expand cargo capacity, though they do not offer a 60:40 split option. For CNG variants, two cylinders are placed in the lower area, yet still provide usable boot space.
