If you choose the equivalent Adventure Plus in petrol, it costs approximately ₹7,75,200 ex-showroom, with an on-road price of about ₹8,51,000 in Lucknow. This shows a difference of roughly ₹1,00,000 between the CNG and petrol versions.
Bold Exterior Design
The Tata Punch boasts a muscular and strong front profile. It features normal halogen headlamps for illumination, though fog lamps are not included in this variant. Turning indicators are present, along with a prominent lower grille. The front also showcases the engine and suspension setup. The plain roof and dual wiper washer complete the front view.
From the side, the Punch looks equally impressive. This variant comes with 15-inch normal black steel rims, adorned with wheel covers and the Tata logo. The tires have a profile of 185/60 R15. Broad black cladding runs along the side, adding to its rugged appeal. The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) are electrically adjustable and manually foldable, with integrated indicators. The A-pillar matches the body color, while the B-pillar sports a sleek matt black finish. A notable design feature is that all doors open up to 90 degrees, making entry and exit remarkably easy.
The back profile of the Punch is practical and stylish. It includes halogen bulb tail lights with a unique tire design pattern, which also houses the indicators. The rear features the Tata logo and “Punch” badging. A high-mounted stop lamp is included, along with a power antenna. The black bumper has two ultrasonic parking sensors and a reverse light. Reflectors with a tire design pattern are also visible. Underneath, you can see the rear suspension setup and exhaust pipe. This variant does not come with a rear wiper or defogger.
Dimensions and Ground Clearance
The Tata Punch is a micro SUV with practical dimensions. It measures 3827 mm in length, 1742 mm in width, and 1615 mm in height. A generous ground clearance of 187 mm helps the Punch navigate various road conditions with ease, making it suitable for both urban and slightly rough terrains. The wheelbase is approximately 2445 mm, contributing to a comfortable cabin.
Comfortable Interior Features
Stepping inside, the Adventure Plus CNG offers a dual-tone interior theme.
Rear Cabin: Passengers in the rear benefit from dual-tone door trims with power window controls, door openers, speakers, and bottle holders. The seats are made of fabric. The newly added rear AC vents, accompanied by a Type A USB port, enhance comfort for back-seat occupants. Two fixed headrests and three-point seatbelts are provided for safety. A parcel tray is also available for convenience.
Front Cabin: The driver’s side features a flip remote key with lock, unlock, and follow-me headlamp functions, along with a physical spare key. The door trim includes controls for all four power windows, ORVM adjustments, door openers, speakers, bottle holders, and umbrella holders. The fabric seats offer height adjustment and recline options. The manual transmission comes with ABC pedals and a dead pedal.
The dashboard includes a fully digital instrument cluster that displays various check lights, a speedometer, a car meter, and fuel levels for both CNG and petrol. The steering wheel features the Tata logo and controls for telephone and infotainment. Manual controls for headlamps and wipers are also present.
A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered by Harman, provides connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with USB ports. This system also supports a reverse parking camera, assisting with parking maneuvers. For climate control, manual AC controls are provided for fan speed and airflow adjustment. Below the AC controls, you’ll find Type A and Type C USB ports, as well as a 12V charging outlet, along with additional storage space.
The Adventure Plus CNG variant is available with a five-speed manual transmission. The handbrake features chrome treatment, and there are two glass holders. The newly added armrest is slideable and includes a small storage compartment. A normal glove box offers space for documents and other small items. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is manually adjustable. The roof light emits a yellow light, and the sun visors include a vanity mirror on the passenger side and a ticket holder on the driver’s side.
Versatile Boot Space
The Tata Punch offers a decent boot space of 366 liters. This micro SUV includes a parcel tray. In petrol variants, the spare wheel, along with a jack and tools, is located in the boot. However, in the CNG variant, twin cylinders are placed in the boot, which reduces the available space. In the CNG version, the spare wheel is positioned underneath the vehicle. A hook, capable of holding up to 1 kg, and a boot light are also present. The rear seat is 100% foldable, allowing for expanded storage when needed.
Engine Performance and Mileage
The Tata Punch is available with petrol, CNG, and EV engine options (excluding diesel). This variant features a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. The engine bay includes insulation under the bonnet to help reduce noise.
In Petrol Mode: The engine produces 83 BHP of power and 114 Nm of torque. It delivers a mileage of approximately 18-19 kmpl.
In CNG Mode: When running on CNG, the engine produces 72 BHP of power and 103 Nm of torque. The mileage significantly increases to about 26 kmpl, offering a more economical driving experience.
