Nissan Magnite Geza Edition: Features, Price, and More

Discover the newly launched Nissan Magnite Geza Edition, a special variant that adds new features not found in the XL variant. This edition is designed to offer more to car buyers.

Introducing the Nissan Magnite Geza Edition

The Nissan Magnite Geza Edition comes with extra features that were previously missing from the XL variant. This edition costs ₹35,000 more than the XL variant. Key additions include a large infotainment system, JBL speakers, and a parking camera.

The Nissan Magnite range starts from ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top model priced around ₹11 lakh. It is offered exclusively with petrol engine options, including 1.0-liter turbo and non-turbo choices. The available variants are Base, XL, Geza Edition, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium Optional.

Bold Front Design and Features

The Magnite features a bold front grille with a chrome Nissan logo in the center, which is standard across all variants. The headlights are normal halogen-based units, with indicators placed on the side. L-shaped chrome accents are also standard. While higher variants get DRLs, the Geza Edition does not include them. Fog lamps are not standard but can be added as accessories.

The lower grille design is distinct, complemented by a silver skid plate that gives the front a muscular appearance. The car offers an impressive ground clearance of 205mm, which is better than some competitors like the Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300. Dual wipers and washers are also present. Roof rails are now offered from the XL variant onwards.

Magnite’s Dimensions and Side View

The Nissan Magnite measures 3994mm in length, 1758mm in width, and 1572mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2500mm. The car features front disc brakes. Other standard side features include roof rails, which add to its SUV stance.

Rear Profile and Geza Edition Upgrades

The Geza Edition stands out with a reverse parking camera, a feature not available in the XL variant. Reverse parking sensors and reflectors are also present at the rear. A silver skid plate adds to the rear styling.

At the top, the car features an integrated spoiler, a high stop lamp, a rear wiper, and a defogger, all of which are standard. The Nissan logo and prominent Magnite badging are placed on the tailgate. The taillights are halogen units with integrated indicators. The car’s 205mm ground clearance is a significant advantage in its segment.

Spacious Boot and Flexible Seating

The Magnite offers a generous 336-liter boot space. A parcel tray is not included and needs to be added as an accessory. The boot provides hooks for convenience but does not have a boot light. The spare wheel is a 15-inch steel rim, while the main wheels are 16-inch steel. The rear seats offer 100% fold-down functionality but do not provide a 60:40 split option. Adjustable headrests are provided, and power window controls are standard.

Comfortable Rear Cabin Experience

The rear doors feature a dual-tone trim with a silver-finished door opener and power window controls. Fabric touches are present on the door panels. JBL speakers are fitted in all four doors, alongside bottle holders and child locks. The seats are upholstered in fabric and come with seat belts. This variant does not have rear AC vents. The cabin offers good legroom and headroom, comfortably accommodating two adults, with space for a third person to adjust. The floor is nearly flat. A grab handle is provided, and the cabin light is yellow.

Color Choices and Market Position

The Nissan Magnite is available in a range of colors, including Black, Silver, White, Brown, Red, and Blue. It competes with other compact SUVs such as the Renault Kiger and Tata Punch. Compared to the Renault Kiger, the Magnite offers a lower price point and more features.

Driver-Centric Interior and Advanced Technology

The front doors feature body-colored handles and a dual-tone panel. Power window controls and ORVM adjustments, including a folding function, are present. JBL speakers are integrated into the doors. The remote key provides central locking with lock and unlock buttons.

Inside, the Geza Edition boasts a full Android touchscreen system, a reverse parking camera, and JBL speakers in all four doors. The 2023 updated model includes safety features like traction control, ESP, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The fabric seats offer recline adjustment but no height adjustment for the driver. The driver’s area includes manual transmission pedals and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The dashboard features a dual-tone design. The 9-inch full-touch Android system is a key highlight for music lovers, offering applications like YouTube and Play Store. This system replaces the button-based audio system found in the XL variant. It also provides a clear view from the reverse parking camera. The digital instrument cluster displays RPM, temperature, fuel level, and a multi-information screen showing details like average mileage (displaying 8.6 km/l, with a claimed 18-19 km/l), service reminders, trip information, and range. The TPMS displays individual tire pressure readings and alerts if pressure is low.

The steering wheel features a Nissan logo and controls for the infotainment system and telephone calls. It has a silver finish. Headlight controls are on the left stalk, and wiper controls are on the right. The steering is tilt-adjustable.

The center console has a glossy black finish around the infotainment screen, with buttons for the defogger, hazard lights, and door locks. Silver-finished AC vents are present. The glovebox is deep and includes a USB port. Fully automatic climate control is available from the XL variant. Storage space for a phone and a 12V charging socket are located below. The car comes with a five-speed manual gearbox. Automatic (CVT) and dual-tone options are available with the XV variant, and a turbo option is available from the XL variant. The center console also includes a handbrake, two cup holders, and additional storage. Overhead, there is a manually adjustable IRVM, a yellow cabin light, a microphone, a driver-side sun visor with a ticket holder, and a passenger-side vanity mirror.

Engine Options and Performance

The Nissan Magnite offers a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, with a claimed mileage of about 18-19 km/l. For those seeking more power, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine option is available, delivering 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. Both engine options offer good mileage.

Enhanced Safety Features

The Nissan Magnite includes a comprehensive set of safety features. These comprise ABS with EBD, dual airbags, a reverse parking camera, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seat belt warnings, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and traction control.

Pricing and Value Proposition

The Nissan Magnite Geza Edition is priced at ₹7,39,000 (ex-showroom). The on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹8,45,000. This edition costs ₹35,000 more than the XL variant, offering valuable additions like a large infotainment system, JBL speakers, and a reverse parking camera.
