2026 Renault Triber Authentic Base Model Review: Features and Price of the 7-Seater MPV

Renault Triber Base Model: India’s Most Affordable 7-Seater MPV

The Renault Triber is known as India’s most affordable 7-seater MPV car. This vehicle starts with a low base model price, making it a popular choice for families. The base model offers many features that are great for its price point.

The Renault Triber’s lowest model starts from ₹5,76,000 (ex-showroom). The top model can go up to ₹10,00,000. For the base model, the on-road price is around ₹6.5 lakh. This entry-level MPV comes with a remote central locking key, which allows you to lock, unlock, and open the boot. It also includes six airbags as standard for enhanced safety.

Exterior Design and Practicality

The front of the Renault Triber base model features a glossy black finish grille with the Renault logo in the center. It has projector headlamps that provide yellow light, along with parking lights and turn indicators. Fog lamps are not included but can be added later as accessories. The lower grille has a rough black finish, and a tow hook option is available. The car offers a good ground clearance of 182 mm and has dual wipers. The roof is plain, but roof rails can be added as accessories.

From the side, the Triber base model shows its budget-friendly nature with no wheel covers, though they can be fitted. The car comes with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, which can be extended. It rides on 14-inch wheels with 165/80R 14-inch radial tires. For braking, it has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The fender features black cladding and turn indicator placement. The side mirrors (ORVMs) are matte black, manually foldable, and manually adjustable. Both the A and B pillars are in body color, and the door handles also have a matte black finish.

At the rear, the Renault logo is centrally placed. The tail lights include both turn indicators and reverse lights. A high-mounted stop lamp is also provided. The rear bumper is finished in matte black and includes three reverse parking sensors. You can also see the rear suspension setup and the exhaust pipe.

Dimensions and Fuel Capacity

The Renault Triber is a sub-4-meter car, meaning it has a length of 3985 mm. Its width is 1734 mm, and its height is 1643 mm. The wheelbase measures 2636 mm. The fuel tank capacity is 40 liters.

Smart and Versatile Interior Space

Inside, the Renault Triber base model features a dual-tone door trim and dashboard. The front and rear power window controls are standard. Speakers need to be installed later, but there are bottle holders in the doors. The seats are made of fabric. The middle row seats are split in a 60-40 ratio and can be slid forward, backward, and reclined for comfort. This car offers good legroom and kneeroom, especially in the second row.

For the third row, access is easy by tumble-folding the second-row seats. The third row is suitable for children, offering decent legroom but average thigh support. Both the second and third rows have adjustable headrests. However, the base model does not include rear AC vents; these are available in higher variants. Six airbags are standard from the base model. Grab handles are not present in any row.

Flexible Boot Space

The boot space of the Renault Triber is highly versatile. With all three rows in use, you get 84 liters of boot space. Instead of a spare tire, a tire inflator kit is provided. If you need more space, the 50:50 split third-row seats can be folded to offer over 400 liters of boot space. For even more room when only five people are traveling, the third-row seats can be completely removed and stored at home. All necessary toolkits are also located in the boot area. It’s important to note that a spare tire is not included.

Driver-Focused Cabin and Technology

The driver’s side door trim is similar to the rear, with front power window controls and a manual adjustment stick for the side mirrors. The dashboard has a dual-tone finish. The fabric seats offer a recline option, and a manual lever opens the fuel cap. The car uses a manual transmission with ABC pedals.

The base model of the Renault Triber does not come with an audio system or touchscreen infotainment; these can be added as per your budget. The steering wheel features the Renault logo and is tilt-adjustable, but it does not have mounted controls. The fully digital instrument cluster displays a large RPM meter, fuel levels, temperature, and a multi-information display (MID) screen. The MID shows average mileage (around 20 kmpl when stationary, 15-18 kmpl in rough driving), trip meters, range, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) check light for low pressure.

The center console has AC vents with a silver finish. It includes a hazard light switch, central lock/unlock button, and a traction control switch. Manual AC controls with knobs for fan speed and air flow are present. There are multiple storage spaces, including two cup holders and a dedicated area near the manual handbrake (though no armrest is provided). A 12V charging outlet is available. The glove box offers space for documents and other items. The roof light is a white LED, and the driver’s sun visor has a ticket holder.

Engine Performance and Safety Features

The Renault Triber base model is powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, non-turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. While the MID might show around 20 kmpl, expected mileage is typically between 18-19 kmpl, depending on driving style. The 1.0-liter petrol engine might feel slightly underpowered to some drivers. The engine bay includes proper insulation under the bonnet.

Safety is a key highlight, with the Triber base model offering a range of features including:

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • Six Airbags
  • Reverse Parking Sensors
  • Speed Alert System
  • Seat Belt Warning
  • Engine Immobilizer
  • Crash Sensors
  • Traction Control
  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Price and Value Proposition

The Renault Triber base model is an excellent choice for those seeking an affordable 7-seater MPV. With an ex-showroom price of ₹5,76,000 and an on-road price of around ₹6.5 lakh, it provides outstanding value. It delivers a great combination of space, practicality, and essential safety features, making it India’s most budget-friendly 7-seater car.
