2024 Tata Tiago Maverick Edition: Price, Features, and Walkthrough Review

Explore the Tata Tiago Mevarick Edition: Features and Price

The new Tata Tiago Mevarick Edition brings exciting cosmetic changes and added features. This special edition has been spotted at showrooms, even before any official announcement. It offers a refreshed look and enhanced functionality compared to the regular Tiago models.

What’s New in the Mevarick Edition?

This edition focuses on cosmetic upgrades and practical additions. It’s designed to offer a complete package, similar to the Tiago XZ variant. Key additions include a touchscreen infotainment system and a reverse parking camera, along with various accessories fitted directly at the showroom.

Price and Engine Options

The starting price for this edition is around ₹599,000 (ex-showroom). The base model begins at roughly ₹5 lakh, and the top-end model can go up to approximately ₹8 lakh. This shows a difference of about ₹5,000 compared to previous starting prices.

You can choose between both Petrol and CNG engine options, giving you flexibility based on your driving needs.

Front Exterior Details

The front of the Mevarick Edition features a glossy black grille with the Tata logo. A chrome strip extends across the grille, connecting both headlamps. The lower grille is completely blacked out.

For illumination, it comes with normal halogen-based headlamps. Higher variants offer projector headlamps and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The indicators are placed on the side. Accessories, like the visible part, are included with this edition. You will also find a tow hook option and housing for fog lamps, which can be installed later as an accessory. The car boasts a ground clearance of approximately 170 mm.

The roof is plain, equipped with dual wipers and washers, and a power antenna. A dual-tone color option is also available.

Side Profile and Wheels

From the side, the Mevarick Edition maintains the Tiago’s familiar look with no major changes in its overall profile. It features 14-inch Hyper Style Steel Rims, designed to give the feel of alloy wheels, similar to those seen in the XZ Rhythm variant. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels come with drum brakes. The tire section is 175/65 R14 radial.

The Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) are finished in gloss black, featuring integrated blinker indicators. They are electrically adjustable. The A-pillar is body-colored, and the door handles also match the body color. All accessory parts visible on the side are part of this Mevarick Edition, meaning you don’t need to pay extra for them.

The B-pillars are black, and rear door guards are also included.

Rear Exterior and Boot Space

The rear profile of the car showcases the Tata logo in the center and the Tiago badge. A reverse parking camera is fitted into the bumper as part of this edition. You will also find two reverse parking sensors for added convenience. Like other exterior additions, the rear accessories are part of the Mevarick Edition package.

The tail lights use regular halogen bulbs, housing both indicators and reverse lights. This edition does not include a rear wiper or defogger. A high-mounted stop lamp is present, along with “Vocal for Local” stickers and gloss black spoiler pads.

The boot can be opened using the car key or an internal lever. There is no request sensor for the boot. It offers a generous boot space of 242 liters, complete with a parcel tray that can be removed. Hooks are also provided for securing items. The genuine accessories, including the touchscreen and camera, are included in this edition. These would typically cost around ₹25,000 to ₹27,000 if purchased separately. The spare wheel, jack, and tool kit are conveniently stored below the boot floor. For the CNG variant, twin cylinders are provided, still offering ample boot space and improved fuel efficiency.

Vehicle Dimensions

The Tiago Mevarick Edition has a length of 3765 mm, a width of 1677 mm, and a height of 1535 mm. The wheelbase measures 2450 mm.

Interior Comfort and Technology

The interior features a dual-tone theme. Fabric seats come with custom seat covers that are part of this edition, so there’s no extra cost. The dashboard also follows the dual-tone design, and the included touchscreen is a highlight of this edition.

In the rear, there are no AC vents, but bottle or glass holders are provided. Two passengers can sit comfortably, and a third person can also be accommodated. The roof light is a white LED, a feature not commonly found in other cars in this segment. Fixed headrests are present, along with three 3-point seatbelts. The rear seats can be 100% folded, but there is no armrest. Child locks are included on the doors for safety.

The driver’s side door trim is dual-tone and includes controls for all four power windows, the door opener, and ORVM adjustments. Speaker and bottle holder placements are at the bottom of the door. The driver’s seat offers both height adjustment and recline options. Levers for opening the fuel lid, boot, and bonnet are also present. The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Driver’s Cockpit and Infotainment

Upon entering, you will find a fully digital instrument cluster displaying vital information such as the RPM meter, speedometer, fuel gauge, and temperature bars. The Multi-Information Display (MID) screen shows details like the odometer, trip A and B, average mileage, and range.

The steering wheel features the Tata logo and includes controls for infotainment and telephonic functions on the left side. There are no controls on the right side, and cruise control is not available. A steering cover is also part of this special edition. Manual controls for headlamps and wipers are present. The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable for driver comfort.

The centerpiece of the console is a 9-inch Android touchscreen, which is larger than the standard unit. It offers connectivity options like Android and USB. When reverse gear is engaged, the camera displays a clear image, similar to factory-fitted units.

Below the AC vents, which have a black finish with chrome surrounds, you’ll find manual AC controls for fan speed and temperature. There is a Type-A USB port and a 12V charging outlet, along with storage space for small items or a phone. Two glass holders and a manual handbrake are located in the center.

Safety Features

This car is equipped with two airbags – one for the driver and one for the front passenger. The Tiago holds a strong 4-star Global NCAP crash test rating, highlighting its robust build quality. Higher variants also include features like TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and traction control. The glove box is spacious, and a USB cable for connectivity is located inside. The IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror) is manually adjustable, and a microphone is present. The driver’s sun visor has a ticket holder, while the co-driver’s sun visor is plain.

Engine Performance and Mileage

The Mevarick Edition is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is also shared across other Tata models like the Tigor, Punch, Altroz, and Nexon. It delivers 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. You can expect a petrol mileage of around 19-20 kmpl.

For the CNG variants, the power figures will be slightly lower, but they offer impressive fuel efficiency, providing a mileage of approximately 26 kmpl.

Final Pricing and Features Summary

The Tata Tiago Mevarick Edition is priced at ₹685,000 (ex-showroom). The on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹670,000 after discounts, though its actual value, considering the included touchscreen and reverse parking camera, is around ₹710,000.

Key safety and convenience features include ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seatbelt warning, engine immobilizer, and crash sensors.

This Mevarick Edition is an excellent choice if you prefer getting premium accessories like a touchscreen and reverse parking camera directly from the showroom, rather than having them installed aftermarket.
