First Look: What’s New?

The Tata Tiago Facelift brings several notable changes. You will immediately notice a new grille and updated LED headlamps. The car also features Hyperstyle steel wheels, which are now larger. Inside, a new touchscreen infotainment system and other additions enhance the driving experience.

The base model of the Tata Tiago starts around ₹5 lakh, while the top model goes up to ₹8 lakh. The automatic variant is priced approximately ₹45,000 more than the manual. You can choose between petrol and CNG engine options. The Tiago is available in about four to five variants, including XE, XM, XT, XZ, and XZ+.

Striking Exterior Design

The Tiago Facelift presents a modern and appealing exterior.

  • Front Profile: The car comes with a classic flip remote central locking key, featuring lock, unlock, and follow-me-home buttons, along with the Tata logo. The front showcases a new Tata logo set against a glossy black grille. New automatic LED headlamps and integrated indicators enhance visibility. While this XZ variant does not include fog lamps, it does have DRLs. A towing option is also available. The lower grille is finished in black, and the car offers a ground clearance of approximately 170 mm.
  • Side Profile: The Tata Tiago Facelift features a plain roof, with a dual-tone roof option available. It includes dual wipers with washers, and rain-sensing wipers are also present. A significant upgrade is seen in the Hyperstyle steel wheels, which are now 15-inch, up from the previous 14-inch. These come with 175/60 R15 radial tires. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels feature drum brakes. The Outer Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) are auto-fold and unfold, with integrated indicators. The B-pillar is finished in black, and the door handles are chrome. The fuel tank capacity for the petrol variant is about 37 liters. A shark fin antenna sits atop the roof. The car comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers, which can be extended.
  • Rear Profile: The rear of the Tiago Facelift maintains a familiar look. It features the Tata logo in the center and a Tiago badge. A reverse parking camera and a defogger are included in this XZ variant, but there is no rear wiper. A high-mount stop lamp and a glossy black spoiler are present. The taillights are standard halogen bulbs. For safety, two reverse parking sensors are integrated into the rear bumper.
  • Dimensions: The Tata Tiago Facelift has a length of 3802 mm, a width of 1677 mm, and a height of 1537 mm. The wheelbase measures 2400 mm.

Advanced Interior & Technology

Step inside the Tata Tiago Facelift to experience a host of new features and an updated design.

  • Dashboard and Controls: The dashboard has a completely new design, providing a fresh feel. It houses a large touchscreen and a new instrument cluster, similar to that found in the Nexon’s lower variants. The new two-spoke steering wheel features an illuminated Tata logo and comes with controls for telephony, infotainment, and the Multi-Information Display (MID). The steering wheel is tilt-adjustable. The car also boasts automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers in the XZ variant. The MID screen displays information like trip details, average mileage (around 14.3 kmpl observed, with an expected 20 kmpl), range, and audio settings.
  • Seating and Comfort: The seats are upholstered in fabric. Rear AC vents are not available in this model. Legroom and thigh support are standard for a hatchback. A white LED roof light illuminates the cabin. A small hump in the rear floor might make it slightly less comfortable for a third passenger in the middle.
  • Center Console: The center console is a highlight, featuring a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The AC vents have a glossy black finish with chrome accents. The Tiago branding is also new. The automatic climate control system can be operated directly from the touchscreen. The system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and includes radio functionality. The improved reverse parking camera offers better quality. A hazard light switch is located in the center. Below the climate control, you’ll find a 12V charging outlet and a USB port, along with a small storage space. The automatic transmission gear selector is positioned here, and notably, a CNG automatic option is also available, which is a first in this segment. Two cup holders and a manual handbrake are also present.
  • Other Interior Features: The dual-tone door trims feature power window controls, door openers, ORVM controls, speakers, and bottle holders. The dashboard and door trims sport a new, lighter color theme texture. For safety, the car is equipped with two airbags (for the driver and co-driver). The cooled glove box includes a tablet holder. The Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) is manually adjustable, and a microphone is provided for calls. The driver-side sun visor has a ticket holder, while the co-driver side includes a vanity mirror.

Power, Performance & Efficiency

The Tata Tiago Facelift continues to offer reliable performance.

  • Engine: It is powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine.
  • Power and Torque: This engine produces 85 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque.
  • Mileage: The petrol variant claims a mileage of 20-21 kmpl. The CNG variant offers a lower power output but delivers a higher mileage of approximately 26 kmpl.
  • Other Details: There is no diesel engine option available. The engine bay includes ABS with EBD unit and proper insulation on the bonnet.

Pricing, Variants & Safety

The Tata Tiago Facelift offers competitive pricing and essential safety features.

  • Pricing: The second top XZ automatic variant is priced at ₹7,45,000 (ex-showroom). The on-road price in Lucknow is approximately ₹8,06,000.
  • Boot Space: The petrol variant offers a generous boot space of 242 liters, which includes a parcel tray and a 3 kg hook. The spare tire is a 13-inch steel rim, two sizes smaller than the main tires. The rear seats are 100% foldable, allowing for increased luggage capacity when needed.
  • Safety Features: For passenger safety, the Tiago Facelift is equipped with ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a reverse parking camera, a speed alert system, seat belt warning, an engine immobilizer, and crash sensors.

Color Options & Build Quality

The Tata Tiago Facelift is available in a range of attractive colors, including Grey, White, Red, Blue, and Midnight Plum (a black shade). In a segment with many options, the Tiago is particularly known for its robust build quality, offering peace of mind to its owners.
