Hyundai Verna S Variant Pricing and Engine Options

The Hyundai Verna XM base model starts from an ex-showroom price of ₹11,07,000. The S variant, which is the focus, has an ex-showroom price of ₹12,37,000. On-road in Lucknow, this model is estimated to be around ₹14,23,000. The Verna exclusively offers petrol engine options: a 1.5-liter non-turbo or a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, both available with various transmission choices. The 1.5-liter petrol engine produces 113 BHP of power and 143 Nm of torque, delivering a mileage of up to 18 kmpl.

Dynamic Exterior Design

The Hyundai Verna S variant boasts a striking exterior. From the front, it features connected daytime running lights (DRLs) and a satin-finish Hyundai logo. The lower grille is entirely black, complemented by projector headlamps and indicators integrated into the front grille. The bonnet has prominent creases that enhance its overall appearance. The car offers a ground clearance of 165 mm and is equipped with manual dual wipers and washers.

Moving to the side, the Verna S variant looks “excellent” with its body-colored door handles and ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), which are electrically adjustable and manually foldable. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels with 185/65 R15 radial tires. The front wheels have disc brakes, while the rear wheels feature drum brakes. The A-pillar matches the body color, and the B-pillar is finished in matte black. Subtle cuts and creases along the side add to its strong visual appeal.

At the rear, the S variant includes a gloss black spoiler, adding a sporty touch. The Hyundai logo is centered above the Verna badging. Connected LED taillights give the rear a “fantastic” look, integrating indicators and reverse lights. The rear bumper is fitted with four reverse parking sensors. The shark-fin antenna and a high-mount stop lamp are also visible at the top of the rear.

Spacious and Feature-Rich Interior

Stepping inside the Hyundai Verna S variant, the cabin offers a comfortable and modern experience. The door trims feature a dual-tone finish, with power window controls, a door opener, speaker, and bottle holder on each door. The seats are made of fabric and include ISOFIX child seat mounts for added safety.

The dashboard presents a clean and modern view, featuring an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, USB, and AUX connectivity. While a reverse camera is not standard, sensors provide parking assistance, and a camera can be added as an accessory. The car also comes with automatic climate control. A unique “magic button” allows the central console controls to switch seamlessly between infotainment and AC functions.

The driver’s area is well-equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster displaying speed, RPM, temperature, and fuel information. A multi-information display (MID) provides various details like drive assist, cluster light settings, door convenience, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), audio trip, and outside temperature. The two-spoke steering wheel features controls for telephony, volume, mode, and MID, along with cruise control, which is a significant addition for this variant. The steering wheel offers both tilt and telescopic adjustments for optimal driving comfort.

The Verna S variant provides ample storage, including a 12V charging outlet, Type-A and Type-C USB ports, and a cooled glove box. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission, with an automatic option also available. Two glass holders and a manual handbrake are located in the center console. The armrest has storage space underneath. For passenger comfort, the rear cabin includes AC vents and two Type-C USB charging ports. Both legroom and headroom are good for a sedan, and the fabric seats offer decent thigh support. Rear passengers benefit from two adjustable headrests and three-point seatbelts. The cabin is illuminated by white LED roof lights, and an electric sunroof adds to the premium feel. The passenger-side sun visor includes a vanity mirror, while the driver’s side has a ticket holder.

Practicality and Safety

The Hyundai Verna S variant offers excellent practicality with its generous 528-liter boot space, which is impressive for its segment. The boot opens easily with a dedicated button on the key. A boot light is also included. The spare tire is a 15-inch steel rim, the same size as the main tires, and a full tool kit is stored underneath.

Safety is a top priority, as evidenced by the car’s five-star safety rating. The S variant comes equipped with a comprehensive list of safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seatbelt warning, engine immobilizer, crash sensor, traction control, TPMS, and ESP (Electronic Stability Program). The car’s dimensions include a length of 4535 mm, a width of 1765 mm, a height of 1475 mm, and a wheelbase of 2670 mm.

The Hyundai Verna S variant offers a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty, which can be extended for an additional cost. The car is available in several color options, including White, Red, Black, and Grey. Its rivals in the segment include popular models like the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia, but the Verna stands out with its combination of features and five-star safety rating.
