The Tata Punch Pure is the entry-level model of the popular Tata Punch. This micro SUV car holds a 5-star safety rating, making it a reliable choice for your journeys.

Price and Models

The Pure base model starts from around 6 lakh (ex-showroom price). The top model, called Creative, can go up to approximately 10 lakh (on-road price in Lucknow).

You can choose between a petrol engine or a CNG engine. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available. The Tata Punch comes in four variants: Pure (the base model), Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative (the top model).

Exterior Design and Features

The Tata Punch is available in several colors including White, Grey, Tropical Mist, Orange, Red, and Blue.

The front has a wide engine hood with a glossy black grille and the Tata logo. It features normal halogen headlights. Fog lamps are not included as standard but can be added as accessories. The lower grille and bumper are entirely black. This micro SUV offers a ground clearance of 187 mm. Higher models also offer features like R12 alloy wheels and a dual-tone roof.

The car has a fuel tank capacity of 37 liters. At the back, you will find the Tata logo and “Punch” badging. The base model does not have a rear wiper or defogger. It includes a high-mount stop lamp and an antenna. The rear lights are also halogen bulb types. LED lights are available from the second-top model. The bumper is all black and has two reverse parking sensors. A reverse parking camera is an accessory.

Spacious Boot

The tailgate opens with a magnetic button. The Tata Punch offers a large boot space of 366 liters. If you choose the CNG model, it comes with two twin cylinders, but still provides around 200 liters of boot space. There is a removable parcel tray. Below the boot floor, you will find a 15-inch steel spare wheel, along with a jack and other tools. Hooks are also provided in the boot area.

Dimensions and Warranty

The car’s length is 3827 mm, its width is 1742 mm, and its height is 1615 mm. The wheelbase measures 2445 mm. The Tata Punch comes with a warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh kilometers, which can be extended.

While some competitor cars might offer more features, the Tata Punch is known for its strong build quality and safety.

Inside the Cabin: Rear Space

The doors open wide, up to 90 degrees. In the base model, the rear windows are operated manually with a winder. The rear doors have an opener, speaker space, and a bottle holder. All seats are covered in fabric. Child seat mounts are also available. There are no AC vents for the rear passengers. The legroom and knee room are comfortable for two people. The headrests are fixed in the base model and only adjustable in the top model. A roof light is only present in the front of the car.

Driver’s Area and Dashboard

The door handles on the base model have a matt black finish. The car uses a manual key. The front doors have a dual-tone trim and controls for the front power windows. The driver’s seat allows for recline adjustment. The car has a fuel opener and ABC pedals for the manual transmission. It also includes two drive modes and an idle start-stop button.

The dashboard in the base model looks simple without added accessories. It features a fully digital instrument cluster that shows the RPM meter, digital speedometer, trip details, average mileage (around 18-19 kmpl for petrol), and remaining fuel. A toggle button allows you to check outside temperature and other information.

The steering wheel has the Tata logo but no mounted controls, as it is the base model. It is tilt-adjustable. Controls for headlights and wipers are on the stalks. There is space on the dashboard to install a touchscreen or an audio system as an accessory, along with a reverse parking camera. The AC vents have a black finish. A hazard light switch is located in the center. The car has manual AC controls for fan speed and temperature. While there is no direct charging outlet in the main console, a 12V charging outlet is provided. The base model only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic option is available from the Adventure variant onwards.

Other interior features include a handbrake and two cup holders. The car is equipped with dual airbags, one for the passenger and one in the steering wheel. The inside rearview mirror is a normal type with no adjustments. The driver’s side sun visor has a ticket holder, while the passenger’s side is plain. The glove box offers good storage space and includes a tablet holder, but it is not cooled.

Engine Performance

The Tata Punch uses a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. This engine produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. It offers a mileage of about 18 to 19 kmpl. For the CNG variant, the engine produces 72 PS of power and 95 Nm of torque, with a higher mileage of 26 kmpl.

Safety Features

For your safety, the Tata Punch includes ABS with EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, and seat belt warnings.
